Librarian help - Requests to add page numbers, publication year, Prize Worthy, etc.

OK. Located the cover and added it, cleaned up and corrected part of the data. Should be all fixed now. =)

Wow! That one was way off. Does this one have everything you want? When you use the add book/author link you can put in that ISBN to do the search.

Sometimes the Goodreads labels aren't as clear as we'd hope, but it doesn't take long to learn them, once you know the key.

Since our group relies so heavily on original publication dates, which applies to all editions, I will work on getting these back into the database. As you know, I can also add page numbers, but that piece of information is edition specific.
Here’s the deal:
1. You can ask for the original publication date for a specific book that you are/will be reading for the current challenge (Winter, Spring, whatever), if it will give you additional points. Please post a link in this thread. These requests will take priority over #2 below. With this request, if you know/need the page numbers for your edition, include it in your request. You should get all the points to which you’re entitled.
2. I will work on fixing the first-pub dates on books you have shelved, first come, first served. However, this can mean thousands of dates, so I’ll be looking only at your unread books for the present. Some of you have everything unread on a To Read shelf, and have prioritized your reads on a non-exclusive shelf. To be fair to others, it would be appreciated if you would request this smaller non-exclusive shelf. Keep in mind, this project will take some time.

I just noticed that the bibliographic info on this last book I read was incorrect... The Song of the Lark shows original pub. date as 1937 but it was, in fact, originally published in 1915. Also, when I input the ISBN for for the copy I read (9780141181042) it comes up with a different book with considerably different page-count. Can you help a girl out? Thanks! Hope you're enjoying your "winter" ;-)

Amazon information is:
Mass Market Paperback: 800 pages
Publisher: Vintage (June 1, 2010)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0307739961
ISBN-13: 978-0307739964
Please advise if I can use it or not.

I'm here to bother you yet again. I read The Christmas Wife by Helen Norris for CiV.
While the pages in the book match up, the pub date is off. The goodreads listed date is 1970, but it wasn't published til 1985 (it's a collection of short stories and the earliest story wasn't even published until 1982). Here is a link to the record from my library, if it helps clarify at all: http://wclcat.weberpl.lib.ut.us/searc...#
Sorry to be such a pain. Again. :-)
Thanks for all your help and hope all is well in your corner of the world!

I'm not sure which edition is the one you have linked, but the ISBN you're interested in has that page length:
Holiday in Death
(and no, it's never too late to request this type of thing.)

If I read it, is there a way I can link to it?

1) Go to the book's page and from your browser's address bar
(.../book/show/ 13580859 -poems-of-robert-browning) copy the book number.
2) In your post, link to an edition of the poems [ book:Poems of Robert Browning|562274 ].
3) Replace the number at the end of the book link with the number you copied from the address of the book's page: [ book:Poems of Robert Browning|13580859 ]
The result: Poems of Robert Browning

Fixed!

ISBN 9781477491225

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'll confirm the page numbers with you tomorrow(the book's at school)and hopefully I will get the cover picture tomorrow, too.

Ok, I'll do that when I get the picture.

Different editions of books have widely different number of pages, and ebooks and audiobooks may not have pages at all. How do you determine page count for the 100 page minimum and for awarding Jumbo points?
In the interest of fairness, members that read the same book should receive the same amount of jumbo style points, no matter which edition is used. We will use the most popular English-language print edition to determine page count...
ETA: That Elizabeth is fast!

I wasn't sure if the first book listed was the most popular edition or not

Original Persian on the Facing Page for underrated. I think I should also be able to claim points for oldies, but the publish date is 1995. Bell first published her translation in 1897. Or can I claim the dates that Hafiz penned the poetry in the 14th century?
