Keysersoze | 13 comments I liked the idea behind TCoCC, not so much the execution. For some read in the distant future, I'd like to suggest a book that explores similar ideas. I think I had suggested using collapse of societies as a theme before (maybe for that very book? like, read whatever book you like that's related?), but this time I think we should all read the same one.

My tentative pick is "Guns, Germs, and Steel". I'm 85 pages in (but paused to switch to another book), and I like that it talks about what forces bring about civilization.

So, if anyone wants to use society formation/evolution/collapse as a topic, I'd love to hear what books you'd suggest.

the map there looks ethnic, not cultural. I baseically agree, but is it much ado about the obvious?

I like this topic, a lot.
