Thanks GL. I'll check it out later - dinner calls!

Hi GL. He's very good! Puts me in mind of a cheerier Stephen Wright. Shame he's not with us anymore. I used to love Bill Hicks for his really dark and challenging humour.
Its all in his delivery really - when you look at what he says its not that funny, but when its him saying it I roll around with laughter. I have a CD of him and I love it. Its almost beat comedy!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Officially yes, although he also had a heart defect that probably didn't help."Oh dear. I was guessing from his somewhat agitated manner. Mind you, I'd be pretty agitated if I was trying to do stand-up.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "He suffered badly from stage-fright too. I was just reading his wipipedia article."That really take some cojones then.
Speaking of untimely demises, I'm just finishing re-reading Harry Thompson's "Penguins Stopped Play", which is the sort of book that Bill Bryson would have written if he played cricket.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "I went and bought it too - just arrived today.Whats up? Why have you got the humph?"
Bought what?
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "The 'Penguins stopped play' book Philip."Oh good! Hope you enjoy it. I was humphing because I'd asked for comments on a piece of writing and wasn't getting anywhere...

Hi Philip I'm at work at the moment and quite busy today - also is a bit annoyng to try and leave a comment and be asked to set up a profile and stuff, so I tend not to do it.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Hi Philip I'm at work at the moment and quite busy today - also is a bit annoyng to try and leave a comment and be asked to set up a profile and stuff, so I tend not to do it."Quite understand. I didn't actually mean on the blog, but here.
You know, it's quite cosy under here. A little musty, I'll give you, but I put that down to my Willowbark and Burdock moisturiser which smells like something died in the tube years ago.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Philip wrote: "Having another transparent day today!"Maybe you need to eat more..."
You wouldn't say that if you saw me ;-)
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "but would I be able to see you?"Curses! Trapped by a logical paradox!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "You need a 'Get out of paradox free' card."Sounds like a brand of washing powder, doesn't it? "Try new miracle Paradox for whiter whites"
Your whites would be paradoxically white. Actually I don't think I have any whites, all my clothes are coloured.
This is apropos nothing at all. I'm currently just 30 sales away from having sold 4,000 copies of
. Sad, the things we get excited about, isn't it? ;-)
i think thats very much worth getting excited about! Are you going to have a 4000 party when you get there?
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "i think thats very much worth getting excited about! Are you going to have a 4000 party when you get there?"I don't think I've got room! I normally hold my fan club conventions in a telephone box ;-)
