Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Janet I hope it isn't my curtains you have blended in with?

message 254: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3396 comments How's it going in here? Oh, nobody around. Did those curtains just twitch?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Janet? Did you say something? Or have you put on a cloak of inaudibility?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Worms? did someone mention worms..?

message 274: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Sorry, no worms today. I can sauté a few snails for you, though. Oops no snails either. Too hot and dry for them. How about a nice lizard?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I couldn't eat a lizard, we used to heave a pet one. He was called William. We used to go out and catch live food for him. Including worms.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Someone hand Janet a towel. Her face is leaking.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh dear - Patti had some onion-peeling goggles a little while ago - maybe she would lend them to you!

I'm souping

message 284: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Did you see the free soup cookbook today?

Haven't you been meant to soup for over a week?

message 285: by Jay-me (Janet) (new)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Yes I'm finally souping...........big pan of minestrone & small pan overflowing with lentil & bacon. I was looking at leek & potato as I have a few potatoes, but Delia's recipe cheats by using frozen mash.

I did get a few free recipe books - haven't looked at them yet.

message 286: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Want my potato soup recipe? It's super (souper) hehe quick and easy.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Patti (Totally Bananas) wrote: "Want my potato soup recipe? It's super (souper) hehe quick and easy."

Yes please. No pans spare tonight though. I've just decanted the lentil into the slow cooker.
Tomorrow I might do the pork chop recipe that I tried before. It was eatable!!!!

message 288: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You can do it when you're ready to eat it. Only takes about a half hour, start to finish. It doesn't freeze well because the potatoes go grainy when frozen but it keeps in the fridge for a few days.

I'll pop it in the recipe thread.

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Going back on-topic for a moment (was there ever a topic), Perth residents all seem to have had their heads put on at 90 degree off-set. They never look where they are going, instead they seem to be always looking to the side. Sandra told me it is because they are not used to shopping centres being busy so they don't have to worry about bumping into things. I think it is because they are always on the look out for a sheep in distress in the bush.

message 290: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Aw poor Simon. Did you get trampled?

message 291: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3396 comments I now have the classic example of advanced invisibility. Yesterday, in a desperate attempt to drum up viewers for my blog, I went back to the forums on Authonomy where I used to lurk a year or two ago. I pulled up a thread relating to my Christmas story (A Stable Upbringing) and used this to advertise the latest post. I was really chuffed when I noticed someone else had posted after me. I was less chuffed when I realised they had ignored everything that I had said and had, instead, answered a comment someone else had made over a year ago!

message 292: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments What a shame Philip. To prove you are now visible You can give me a link to your Xmas story as I have decided to treat myself to a spree of reading nothing but festive fiction.

Thanks Patti. I must admit, I rather like the Nativity as a topic for a little gentle humour.

Philip Whiteland | 3396 comments Anybody fancy a second-hand Cloak of Invisibility? Some patches, as you can see (well, you would, wouldn't you) but generally wearable. Genuine reason for sale - owner is invisible enough without the aid of a cloak ;-)
