I'm confused (TSFT SPOILER)...

Hi! I've always loved this book. It's probably my favourite YA books ever (I think I like it even better than Twilight)! So I've just been reading TSFT again (some of the parts at least), and I get confused on some things:

1. The Tree of All Souls was corrupted because Eugenia Spence was in there, so Gemma wanted to kill the tree. But since they didn't kill the tree, and it is Kartik who's trapped in there instead, won't he be the same as Eugenia later? The Tree of All Souls still lives, so won't the Winterlands creatures be able to get power from it like they used to?

2. And how did Kartik became the Tree? He didn't bleed himself right? Gemma did. I mean, what exactly did he do that makes the Tree suddenly took him, and not Gemma?

I don't think I was confused when I read this book the first time. Maybe it's because it's been awhile since I've read it. Don't anyone else think this book is great? Stupid question to ask here, I know. I love the ending, it's so beautiful. But at times, I feel like I prefer Kartik to live instead, no matter how much I like the present ending. I wish there's a sequel..

Don't worry Hanah. When I first read the whole series, I was confused too, until I reread all the sections of the book that I didn't understand. You should maybe try rereading the sections you didn't understand or that link to the book, and you should visit that website that Emma recommended.

The thing is, I don't remember being confused the 1st time I read it. Maybe it's because I just skipped through the best parts only for the second read.

Yeah I know the feeling. The book was fantastic and I loved the ending's meaning, but I miss Kartik... : (

When I got confused about things, especially the whole Kartik taking Eugenia's place, I freaked out and did a rampage of searching on the internet. That's how I found goodreads and I met Emma who helped me feel better and we've been friends ever since!
