Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments My elephants are about to pack up their trunks and go on holidays at the seaside. We might have a free space or two on the bus...

message 653: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments Seaside? Is it warm enough? My little one is just settling in, but I've got an elderly couple who might like a trip.

Cor blimey, no sooner have I mentioned this than they're standing at the door, trunks packed. The chap's got his trunk in the air and now knows where to find you. Please look out for one elderly lady ele (she has a headscarf on) and her beloved old chap with his trunk in the air.

Good job I can type fast. Ahem.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ok, they are safely on the coach and the whole cavalcade is ready to go. Morecambe, are you ready for this?

Off they go to a rousing chorus of 'The wheels on the bus'.

message 655: by Anna (new)

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1752 comments You reckon the wheels will go round with all that weight on board? I hope you got them (the wheels that is) pumped up.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments This is a specially made elephant bus. The wheels are guaranteed to support up to a hundred normal sized elephants, and there are only seats for 50 per bus, so we should be ok.

message 657: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments How many are standing?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Health and safety only allows 3 standers per vehicle.

message 659: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Bet they squeeze more into what our colonial cousins call The Trunk.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments We have enough buses for 1000 elephants at 50 per bus, so we shouldn't have to do any elephant squeezing. The RSPCA would object if we did!

message 661: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments then again, fresh pressed elephant is quite a delicacy in some places

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments On Tsarina perhaps?

message 663: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments It has to be admitted that elephants are more likely to do the pressing

http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks13/1301...

but Tsarina doesn't have elephants as such (or so I have been reliably informed )

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Maybe they are concealed elephants. Or invisible ones.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments My elephants are having a lovely time at the sea side, although the sandcastle competition has hit a few snags...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Golly, I had forgotten I had a author thread! Its been 8 months since the last post. I really need to give it a thorough clean. i think I have mice....

message 670: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Use it or lose it! 8 months puts you beyond the suggested threshold.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Well its not 8 months now, its 6 minutes...

message 672: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments So you're good until May 2015 then.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'll have to try and make sure I post once a month or something.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Phnark.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments If I write one sentence a month, how long would it take...?

message 677: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It depends. How long is a sentence?
How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky...?

message 679: by Pete (new)

Pete Carter (petecarter) | 522 comments Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Golly, I had forgotten I had a author thread! Its been 8 months since the last post. I really need to give it a thorough clean. i think I have mice...."

Isn't it funny how we all went searching for our author threads as soon as there was a threat of deletion!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments yeah... but I had forgotten about mine and it reminded me. This hasn't had much in the way of author activity for a very long time.

message 681: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments There was a great surge of people feeling a little vulnerable! ;)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments There was indeed. The ironic thing is that those people were probably not in danger of being culled anyway...

message 683: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Some unscrupulous members are snipping the bottom of threads, rumour has it. Be aware!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We'll just have to tug on the bottoms and draw them together like a little purse.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Hey! Leave my bottom alone!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Not even in your younger days when you were free, single and wowing the local lasses?

message 698: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's nice that Jim's net seems to working rather well.

I hope I've not now jinxed it!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Jim's Net. Is that a website like Mumsnet? Only for farmers with sheep?
