Yeah it's true. But they finally realized that Annabeth should be blonde, and Alexandra Daddario (who plays Annabeth) died her hair. So hopefully this movie will be better than the first.

Oh NO! Couldn't they leave the rest of the series be? They destroyed the first one! These books are some of my favorites, I mean, They're right up there with Harry Potter and Good Omens! Movie producers, stop ruining my favorite books!Time for a rant. What I hated about The Lightning Thief (the movie):
1.) The actors were in their twenties... playing pre-teens. That just doesn't work.
2.) Did they even TRY to follow the book?
3.) Normally I wouldn't complain about a brunette heroine, but Annabeth is SUPPOSED to be blonde. Maybe it's not that important to the story... but it kinda is.
4.) Seriously. Just follow the book.
5.)They left out a bunch of great/important/funny moments
6.) It was also just too serious in general. If you've read the books then you know, they're really funny (in a sort of teenager-ish sarcastic way). I didn't get that from the movie. :(
7.) Follow. The. Book. (If you're making a popular book into a movie, wouldn't you want to keep to the book? I mean, it's not popular for it's general plot and cover illustration!
That is all.
If I may add, the whole Annabeth-Percy relationship was just not right in the movie (in my opinion). They're supposed to be eleven, their relationship starts out with constant-bickering, which changes to friendship and THEN they begin to have feelings for each other, it doesn't happen at the beginning.

The first movie was SO off. It didn't even have Ares in it, and I'm pretty sure Ares was in the first one. They didn't go on Skype to talk to Luke. There was never some kind of "collect the pearls to go to the Underworld so you can get out" thingamajig.
Hope they dont change the whole stinking plot like the last one! i mean im not one of the people that whine over missing a tiny detail but seriously talk about messing up?!!?!! And about the aannabeth/percy romance...THEY'RE ELEVEN for pity's sake or at least were SUPPOSED to be.....

Yes, the Sea of monster is coming out but is postponed and will be out this 2014!! I really hope that they don't leave the good parts out. And I hear that Alexandra Daddario made her hair blond to be more close to Annabeth's character.
I'm not sure the producers read the whole book, it's like they just look at them for fun. The last movie was not that bad, though, but completely different from the book. I think the second one won't be different than the other one.
It's definitely going to be just as, disappointing, irrelevant and bad as the first one. They should banish the director to the fields of punishment and make him watch it over and over with his eyelids taped open. What were they thinking? The only character they got right was smelly gabe. Just because you throw in a funny token black guy and some pop culture references does not mean teenagers of this modern era are going to think it is hilarious. I really wanted to see that fight between Percy and Ares *sheds tear*I read somewhere that the new movie is being filmed at an abandoned Six Flags and not on an island. What? Did they hire a team of dyslexic monkeys to adapt the script?

I liked the first movie and everything but it was nothing like the book and percy and annabeth didn`t kiss until the 6th book. in the first book annabeth was still deciding weather she liked him or not!
It's true going into theaters in August, it looks alright, Alexandria Daddario dyed her hair blonde, but I think they forgot that they are trying to find Grover, but I could be wrong
If it is better and more true I would see it. All depends on the reviews. The reviews!
I did like the first movie but some bad things:

-Put in extra scenes like, adding the pearls how they did instead of percy getting them from his dad

I love this series but oh man did they mess up the first one. I think they shouldn't have even tried to attempt a second one as there are already so many things wrong with the foundation they set in the first one. THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE 16, THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE 12! GAHHHHH

SO MANY things wrong with the first 1. Such as, THEIR SUPPOSED 2 B 12!!!!! NOT 16!!!!! ANNABETH IS SUPPOSED TO B BLONDE!!!!!! THE PLOT IS TOTALLY CHANGED!!!! GAH!!! I did see the trailer 4 the second 1, though. THE GODS HAVE ANSWERED OUR PRARS!!! Kinda. It some what looked like the book. Annabeth is blonde!!! They are 17 though, not 13. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 17 YEAR OLDS AND 13 YEAR OLDS!! PERCY ISN'T EVEN 17 YET IN HOH!!!

They are making a new Percy Jackson movie. I saw the trailer for it, and it actually looked really good (or at least better than the first one).

There is certainly a movie coming out whether it will be good I don't know.... The first one was good it was just really different from the real story.... I'm just not sure about this one if they got the characters right and anything.... Annabeth is blond this time isn't that weird...?

Yeah, Tyson acts like a gigantic four year old, not like a normal kid, well...besides having one eye anyway...

I didn't like the first movie and I didn't read the books back then. Now that I have completed the series and in love with it. I am super excited! From the trailer, it seems like they are changing things to fit the book more! Although, I don't have high hopes for the movie since I have high standards, I can't wait for the movie.

I've read the book series several times. The first movie was good, but terrible if compared to the book. I think that this movie will be the same way... Sadly... The books are way better!!!
I can already tell from the trailer that the movie will be like the first, half assed and inaccurate. They only made it in 3D to draw a crowd.

Ive read the books and saw the Movie Ive decided the first movie would be really good IF you rename it and change the names of the characters and create a whole new movie but you just CAN NOT make it related to the books in any way shape or form....
The trailers and pictures are actually quite good untill now (There even is a picture of Grover in a wedding dress)So maybe the second movie will fix some things and make it a more accurate. I actually have some faith in this one.
The only thing that bothers me is that they changed the prophecy from 16 years to 20 years, but I guess that was necessary to make it possible. I really don't know if I rather have this prophecy or no prophecy.
At some point were going to need to get over small issues like their age because I ask the question: Does it really Matter if they change everything from 16 to 20? The answer is no they are only doing it so they can get slightly older actors because they are easier to find and better at acting.
I don't think it will be much like the book (as the first movie was) therefore making it sort of bad(like the fist movie), especially from the view of someone who has read the book. It might be just survivable if you haven't... but I am not expecting anything special from what the last one was like. But I will probably end up watching it just to see how insufferable it is :P
