Yeah, the book is one of my favorites. I HOPE this movie will be good cuz the first one was a disgrace to the book.

The movies are as crappy as ever.
I watched the first movie before I read the book and at that point the movie rocked. Some time later I got the books just recently actuly nearly a year after seeing the movie and now I feel robbed. I have a feeling its going to be like the harry potter movies for me good until I read the books now I can not watch them at all not one blessed movie grr
If possible, I reckon the movie will have to be more a fail than the first one. They just can't make it without Clarisse and Mr. D. :L

The movie better be good, or I will (pretend) sue them, for one of the books to be AWFUL!
Sea of Monsters, August 2013! They did change the Director: Thor Freudenthal (Diary of a Wimpy Kid),and also the writers. Same cast as Lighting Thief. You can find more at IMDb.
The first movie was a disgrace to the book and annabeth's hair were supposed to be blonde but she had black hair.but i saw th pics if the second movie and she had blonde hair in them and i also heard that the director is going to be different from the first one so i really hope that it's going to be better than the first one.
i diddn't think the movie was that bad yeah they left things out but thats b/c of timelines and stuff and movies ruin the books all time so don't be mad

The film was okay, but absolutely rubbish compared to the book. I'll definitely watch the new one though, just for fun :D
They're changing alot in the movie coming out because the new director's niece or something was mad about the first movie and demanded him to make it like the book. If you look at the cast on imdb they do have clarisse and Mr.D and also changed a few characters. As someone said above, annabeth has her hair dyed blonde. The only thing I'm not sure of is how they're gonna explain all the changes made. Ps the girl that plays thalia I'm not really sure of. For more info go to imdb:)

i know i was so mad about the ages. They are supposed to be 12. Not however old they are in the movie lol
Oh gods the Lightening Thief movie was AWFUL!! There were so many issues with it: basically the only similarity was the names! Ugh, just terrible! But I have high hopes for Sea of Monsters, it can't be worse than Lightening Thief.
I agree with Paigetwo, there are a lot of plot issues that can no longer be fixed at this point. Logan Lerman is perfect for the role of Percy... if this were Last Olympian when he is sixteen.

The first one, The Lightning Thief, LEFT OUT SO MANY THINGS! It was all messed up! But if you didn't read The Lightning Thief, you would think it was a great movie. I hope the Sea of Monsters won't have the same stupid way.
I mean, OMG!! I think the directors just took the title and names, then made a whole new plot. Thats messed up.
I don't blame the actors for making The Lightning Thief such a horrible movie, that was the writer and director's fault. They just wanted a job, as CassJayTuck on Youtube said.

GODS!!! I love the books, but what are they doing? Taking the title and names and putting it into a totally different plot? I mean, where's the oracle? Clarrisse? What happen to Percy (or Perseus) becoming the supreme lord of the bathroom? Since when did Grover have crutches?

I was flipping through channels on my tv. The Lightning Thief has been playing on Cartoon Network. I guess it was the end of the movie and i recognized Percy's mom's voice (i don't know who the actress is) so i paused to see what was going on. It was a scene from Sea of Monsters (i can only assume) It was Sally saying Gabe should get all of his stuff out and he goes to the fridge and Percy left a note saying don't open it no matter what and put a lock on it but Gabe broke it and looked inside. It was Medusa's head and then the screen went black and you heard stone cracking. WOAH i do not know what to think right now.

After the horrible Lightning Thief movie, I have no faith in the studio. I'll probably end up watching The Sea of Monsters, but I fully expect it to be awful. There's a reason it took them so long to work up enough money to finally release this one, years after Lightning Thief.
The movie is set to come out August 16th of this year. I agree that LT was really bad, but the cast for SOM is so good. My only upset is that Clarisse is actually really pretty. But, uh. They finally included Dionysus (Caesar Flickerman of the Hunger Games) and Clarisse and Thalia, so it's good.
I was very surprised that they are going to do another movie. I just noticed it this week when I saw that Nathan Fillion (from Castle and Firefly) is going to be playing Hermes in the movie. I like Fillion, but I think that they did a poor job with The Lightning Thief.
I know that they're making a movie for it, but I hope it's not going to be like the first movie. That was such a trainwreck. They didn't even show the main antagonists! They didn't have Ares, they didn't have Clarisse, and half the other characters SUCKED. And they left out so many parts of the plot

Woah! Just saw the girl who plays Annabeth has gone blonde...wonder if they will say something about that in the movie...Lol, she goes from brown hair to blonde in it so I just wondered if they would create a scene where they introduce her new hair color he he.

I couldn't agree more!!!!!! It was infuriating!!! And the director directed the first Harry Potter movie! I had such higher expectations especially for him!!!! Who knows the kind of damage that Sea of Monsters will do

Hopefully since there is going to be a new director it will follow more with the book. Even the girl playing Annabeth(not quite sure I trust her) said in a interview that this movie is definitely more like the book than the first movie. I'm not sure how they are going to explain all the changes in the new movie but as a die hard PJ fan I have hope and am happy that at least they're trying to make it better for the fans. I understand all of you being upset but at least look at the new changes and wait until the movie comes out before already assuming it's gonna be horrible.

I'd be both excited and afraid for a new movie if they make one, cos the first one was so off from the book. It was a good movie, don't get me wrong, but I just want them to be more accurate if they do make another one. The Sea of Monsters was one of my favorites. *fingers crossed*
Sadly, we can't ignore all the damage the first movie made. Yes, there will be more characters from the book; yes, Annabeth now is blonde (which I don't think is any better if they don't fix her personality because, let's face it, Annabeth acted nothing like her book counterpart), but there are also things that can't be unmade unless they make a whole new adaptation.The main plot of the books goes around the Great Prophecy, are they just going to say (view spoiler)? That sounds really bad, in my opinion.
And I'm trying to ignore the fact that there's another book series... If they also want to make movies about Heroes of Olympus with the same actors and stuff, (view spoiler).

well the guy who plays castle is going to be hermes. chiron is being changed. there is so much they need to fix and hopefully when they fix it, it will be on princess andromeda where you can get more of the jist of whats trully going on.and because of the age, they might make the prophecy like age of 18 or 21... ugggggggg

Yeah I heard they are going to make a second, but I have no idea how! They screwed up so much stuff in the first that its impossible to continue the series the right way, so I'm sure the second will be just as bad as the first.
