A Suggestion, if you have the time

Both Presidential candidates are asking for your help to knock on doors, or even make calls from home encouraging people to vote this Tuesday.

Names and phone numbers to call are provided on their internet sites, and scripts are there too.

This election could be very close, and I don't know about you, but now that I know my guy needs me, I would feel badly if I did not participate, he lost, and I could have made that crucial difference for him.

So I thought I would let you all know, in case you wanted to get involved as well.

Thanks for reading! Please, no political discussions, as it is Lori's wish not to have any fighting between members here. However, I know a lot of you are passionate about politics, so I thought I would encourage your participation here in the final few days of this election cycle.

Lori, I tried to keep this extremely non-partisan, so hopefully I didn't ruffle any feathers. If so, it certainly was not my intent.

I welcome a knock on my door. Then I can unload the 9,000 pounds of junk mail solicitation I have received (from BOTH parties since I'm registered Indie)!

Of course, then I can't complete the political effigy I have built in my front yard using all of the despised junk mail...

Well, I've called 25 voters so far and I'm having a great time! I clicked on my 25th voter to say I was done and got a list of 60 more. They are all long-distance (in VA, since I'm in MD and the race is a lot closer there), but I'm going to consider it my donation to the campaign!

Over 100 calls so far! This is so much fun - if anyone is at all political, you would love this. It's so great when someone says "You've got my vote!" It makes it all worthwhile.

OOh dear. I've had to stop answering my phone because all it's been lately is political messages (recorded actually, I'd almost welcome a real voice in that case at this point) and requests from charities for money. Why can't they call after tax return checks have come in? That's when I have spare money. Sheesh. Sorry about the rant, but I appreciate what you posted Laura. I don't register, but for people who do care, I'm sure it's nice to receive a phone call from a real person willing to discuss the issues and not blather on about propaganda. Good job!
