Carli, omg, YES! These are good during stressful times! Hmmm... Sounds like I should dig I Spy out of the drawer, dust them off, and give them a relisten, soon!

Personally, I think Alexander has the hands-down sexiest voice of any of my narrators. He just brings a certain sensibility.

But as far as the most popular with readers narrators? I'd say it's a tie between Chris Patton and Kevin R. Free.

Carlita Costello | 1219 comments I agree, Josh. He has THE sexiest voice among the narrators you've selected. Just love the dialogue between the two characters as he reads them. Wonderful.
I think a re-read or re-listen is in my future too, Jordan.

I'm really enjoying it again. It's fitting in nicely with the somewhat emotional week I've been having this week. This makes for a good comfort read. :-)

Steve Leonard (stevelonard) | 485 comments Sorry you've had a strained week, Jordan. Hopefully the weekend is much better.

Kim T | 99 comments Loved the audio it took me a while to read and listen to these as the emotion and just waiting for Stephan to let Mark back was excruciating.

message 158: by Carlita (new)

Carlita Costello | 1219 comments I agree, Kim. The dynamics between these two characters is tense, romantic and real. Each time I read or listen to these, I know them better. I like that.

Kim T | 99 comments Hi Carlita I just love the Audio it's certainly keeps you on edge...I loved how Stephan understood how damaged Mark was and was ready to fight for him.

The arc in this series is basically perfection. It didn't hit me until 'I Spy Something Christmas' when Stephen stood up to the would-be assassin to give his life for Mark's. It was really profound - well, to me, anyway.

Kim T | 99 comments Yes poor Mark he was horrified I think he always thought he would end up dead somewhere but Stephan stepping in front of him protecting him was wonderful. Nobody had ever really protected him I think since his grandfather died.

Oooh, I can't wait to get there!

Stephen is an enjoyable character to write. He has such a strong moral compass. His calm and his certainty -- his compassion -- make a pleasant change. I don't write many characters like Stephen.

I love Stephen. Just started the Christmas story on my way home. The second one is hard to listen too because I hate confrontation and I feel like I could very easily be somehow put in Mark's shoes. Thankfully there's a happy ending!

Averin | 114 comments Having won the audio in the Just Because contest, I was eager to finally get to these stories. The synopses always made me want to read them, but reader reviews about the emotional wringer left me wary.

I've never DNFd a Lanyon book, but if I were reading these I might have. The narrator was superb unlike the DG narrator where it wasn't always clear who was speaking.

Now I know it's safe to read these. Although a fall color coda wouldn't be amiss.

Calathea | 6034 comments You might want to read Haunted Heart after you're done with the I Spy books.
