message 3823: by Marlene (last edited May 10, 2013 09:20PM) (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) ^ Okay, well, let's see if I can remember the tale correctly...
> When I was two I got SARS because my dad travelled a lot for work, and some guy coughed all over Dad on the flight. He came back and the whole family got sick. So he took care of us, gave us showers and fed us ginger ale. We were puking a lot, so ginger ale was one of the only things we could keep down. The stuff is magical.
V The saving-me-at-birth story isn't as fresh in my head, so I'll have to ask my mom. It isn't that nice, though.

message 3824: by johanna (jo), soliloquist. (new)

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 11500 comments Mod

^ o.o
> Woah.
v

message 3827: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) ^ A hole in his heart? O_O Gosh, was he all right? What happened?
> I just finished asking my mom for the full story of how my dad saved me at birth. What happened was that my mom broke her water, which indicated that I had, erm, defecated inside of her. I was going to come out soon, so my mom and dad went to the doctor. The fricking doctor didn't believe my mom, and he told her to go home. But my dad refused to leave. That doctor left and a new doctor came on, and thus I was born.
V Dads are wonderful.

message 3828: by Elevetha (last edited May 10, 2013 09:34PM) (new)

Elevetha | 11058 comments ^ Yeah. (They are indeed!!)
> Um, I was six so details are a bit sketchy but it had something to do with his aorta as well. So they brought him home and he wasn't gaining any weight because he was expending all that energy trying to pump blood. So they took him in and did surgery at 3 weeks old.
V Now he's doing fine.

message 3829: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) ^ Oh my God, I'm so happy he's okay!
> We need our brothers around.
