*reads the comments* I think I need to make a public annoucement.LATIN IS NOT DEAD. "Dead" is a very imprecise word for a language which has contributed so much to Western Civilization. Latin is the foundation upon which all the modern Romance languages are based, and is responsible for quite a bit of English. Latin is still used in Law, the Church, and is a link to some of the greatest scholars and writers of all time. If you know even just a small bit of Latin, you are able to understand English, Italian, Spanish, and many other languages even better than you did before.
No longer in pratical use? Like how we don't see teenagers on Tumblr conversing in Latin on a daily basis. Except for when demons are needed to be gotten rid of. Just today someday photoshopped demon eyes onto a YouTuber, and everyone was bringing out salt, holy water, and chanting in Latin. The language lives! :D
Yes, all very true, Eris. But it is considered a dead language. Which is not to say that "dead" is the right word to describe it, merely that that is often a (AAAH. Cannot think of the right word!!) connotation? that is ascribed to the Latin language.

It's hilarious to watch SPN and watch them butcher Latin, though.
