Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Quite... fangirly. And... depressing. And... elating.
> You know....
v How was yours?

^ I do know:) LOTR, ROTK is one of the only films that I actually cried in. Just ... Pippin and Merry's faces at the Grey Havens scene ... *sob*
> Eurgh. My day was great, thanks ... Didn't manage to get any writing done, but I had some dark chocolate earlier which managed to wake me up a bit xD Oh, and I was reading a little :)

message 5553: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Reading is always good :P
> "I can't carry it for you, but I CAN CARRY YOU!"
v Can you get me a gif for that?

^ *bows* Thanks!
> Not as good as Elevetha and Eris, and Ethan.
v Those guys are the GIF masters :) I'm just an amateur. I get them from Google :P

message 5557: by Leyah (last edited Jul 09, 2013 01:25AM) (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ I get mine there, too.
> Where else would you get them?
v Now I'm watching the last bits of ROTK on my laptop :)

^ Tumblr, I guess.
> I don't really use Tumblr, except as a storage place for my favourite/most useful GIFs :)
v Too much swearing on Tumblr, actually.

What, again? :D

message 5559: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Yeah. The last bit is amazing... the climb up Mount Doom left me with my heart in my mouth. :/
> There is lots of swearing, yeah. One of the drawbacks.
v You saw all my obsessing today?

message 5560: by johanna (jo), soliloquist. (new)

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 11500 comments Mod
^ On the ^>v Game, the 1234 ... 0 game, Last Post Wins, Let's be honest ... Yeah, I saw it:)
> Though you didn't obsess as much as I thought you might.
v One of my least favourite scenes in LOTR is where Frodo's finger gets bitten off >.< It looked so painful (and so gross).

message 5561: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ It did! (even though half of it was invisible)
> I didn't obsess as much? What?
v I expected Frodo's refusal at not throwing the ring in.

message 5562: by johanna (jo), soliloquist. (new)

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 11500 comments Mod
^ Right. Yeah, by the time he got up there it was kinda, "He's not going to be able to do this ..."
He let it go in the end, though :) I read an article where it said that in that moment, before he grabs Sam's hand, and he pulls him up? You know where he looks back at the Ring, just before it melted? The writer worked out that the Ring was probably still calling to him ... that at that last moment he gave it up, and then it went under.
> Which is cool.
v Probably because I missed it. I was offline when you finished ;;

message 5563: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Ahh
> That is so cool! Some people are very clever :)
v :D

^ They are! :D I love reading things that someone's thought of, that you didn't ... it's like, "That totally makes sense!"
> Oh, have you read what happened to the Fellowship after the War of the Ring? It's pretty awesome.
v http://imgur.com/a/Hp6ew

message 5565: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ That was awesome!
> It was pretty amazing, looking at all the landscape scenes and knowing they were filmed in your home country, Jo
v Have you visited the set?

message 5566: by johanna (jo), soliloquist. (new)

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 11500 comments Mod
^ No, not yet ;_;
> Isn't it?!? I'm so proud of NZ. Watching LOTR, or The Hobbit, I'm kind of always going "That's NZ! That's my country! Look at it!" :)
We stayed, after watching The Hobbit in the theatres - We stayed for the credits, right 'til the end, and then cheered when it said "Filmed in New Zealand". :)
v But no, I haven't been yet -- I only discovered the films this year ... so I haven't had much time. I want to go to Hobbiton <3 I know people who have been, and who have climbed Mt. Doom, too xD

message 5567: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ They... they... built Mount Doom?
> *mindblown*
v Well, when I next go to NZ (I have an aunt there) I will beg to go to Hobbiton, and you can too, and we will meet at one of the places in our shared passion :)

message 5568: by johanna (jo), soliloquist. (new)

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 11500 comments Mod
^ No, they didn't build it like that ... it's an actual mountain.

Mt. Ngauruhoe? Some of our friends climbed to the top and took photos :) Some of the filming of Mt. Doom would have been models and things, I guess, and there would have been a lot of CGI and stuff for the lava and everything xD ... but that's the mountain they filmed at least some of it on, I believe :)
> Pretty awesome.
v Haha, definitely. You have an aunt here? That's awesome! (Actually, I have an aunt in Australia. Creepy.)

message 5569: by Leyah (last edited Jul 09, 2013 03:09AM) (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Yeah, she lives in Tauranga
> Wouldn't it be horrible if I went to visit my aunt and you went to visit yours at the same time? *shudders* You should really stop thinking, Leyah
v Wow. That mountain's so majestic. Here's a mountain I've climbed:
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Cradle Mountain, in Tassie. Such an amazing place :) Although it wasn't as snowy when I went, though, only a little at the top :D

^ Wow. The Mountain looks beautiful.
> I wouldn't climb it though. I is scared of heights.
v Barbecue or Barbeque? How do you spell it?

message 5571: by Leyah (new)

Leyah (serferrant) | 8612 comments ^ Uhh. Not sure. Never actually had to spell it :/
> It was extremely beautiful
v Although very hard to climb.

message 5572: by [deleted user] (new)
