January Outlander Reread - See post 642 on page 13 for this weeks TOPIC!

That's quite an interesting idea, Sue. It would make more sense. It's quite plausible that they just disappeared like Roger's da did in his plane. No trace found of them...
I just got chills.

well, yes. But most of Jamie's memories are told in private, too. I just wanted some snippets to enable me to identify with her more.
@Wendy, yes I now remember it was mentioned, they met through Uncle Lamb. I only gave an example.
I guess, it is possible her parents time-traveled, but I think it's unlikely they BOTH carried the gene. It can happen, but I didn't get the impression all that many people can travel. And it might be too much, if they traveled too. While it's an intriguing possibility I would prefer that part to remain non-magical.

Yes it is:).

And maybe i'm lost in the coversation. But you don't necessarily have to have 2 parents who can travel. I mean, we don't know about CLaire's parents, but we know that Bree only had one parent that could.

I have absolute faith in DG not to disappoint us and surprise us, too!

I'm not sure if I want Claires parents to be from the past. There is so much going on in these books, that's another element that might just confuse me. haha!

The second reference to this car accident was in Fiery Cross, when (view spoiler)

In relation to all the TT going on....funny isn't, that TT wasn't DG's original intent. It just kind of happened.

Lotte, that is a great one. I completely forgot about that one. Good one! And thanks for marking it as a spoiler, because comes later.

I read that too, and I think it shows her brilliance. So many authors write historical women or men with modern views and it just rings so false. Diana was able to recognize that and used a sense of paranormal to make Claire's reactions feel more realistic... if that makes sense.

That could make an interesting spinoff series! I don't remember Claire mentioning much about her family other than her parents died in an accident together and she lived with her Uncle Lamb.
Diana has left the door wide open for another book or even spinoff series. Maybe that will be part of the Raymond series. It would make sense since Diana has said that Claire is a descendent of Raymond's.

I thought both of them were very brave. Jamie risked a lot to save Claire. He knew what BJ would do and he didn't hesitate, but you are right it is in keeping with who he was. He would always sacrifice himself for Claire.

I always wondered how Claire could go through the stones? If it's done through "blood lines", then where did hers come from? Maybe her parents were from the 18th century and maybe Uncle "Lamb" wasn't really her uncle. Makes one go Hmmmmmmm.....
