"alright" he meowed and sniffed the window. he saw a small shiny piece and pulled on it with his mouth. it popped free and he shouldered the window open. "go!" he meowed

She slipped out. "Come on!"

Stormfeather grabbed Rani by the scruff and hauled her out the window before leaping out, the window slamming closed behind him, taking out a clump of his tail fur.

Nightdawn moved right infront of Stormfeather. "I'm right here, stupid furballs." he muttered crankily. "That joek isnt funny." he said, stepping fully out of the shadow and lloking normal again.

Blazestrike sighed and watched the cats.

Smokepaw sighed. "let's keep going until we find a comfortable place, then we'll let Stormfeath
rest."

Seaflame grinned as realisation dawned on him. "Nightdawn!" he mewed, signalling the others to wait. "Go...go to the shadow of the bush over there," he mewed, nodding to the small shrub.

Rani squirmed out of Stormfeather's jaws and stalked up to Nightdawn boldly, her eyes narrowed. He was nearly three times her height, but she didn't back down.
"You disappeared, you mouse-brain! Do you really think we would joke about something like that?!" she challenged, her blue eyes flashing with anger. It was obvious she wasn't just angry that he thought it was joke. It was something else too....



Skypaw padded up to Stormfeather. "Are you alright?" she whispered, looking up at her clanmate, concerned.

Blazestrike knew they wouldn't be much longer so she waited.

Smokepaw licked Stormfeather's ear. "Yeah, are you?" Then she jolted away. "Wait a minute...Seaflame has a power...Nightdawn, so do you!" she whirled on him, wishing she would get hers soon

Stormfeather shook his head and yawned. "not really, im...so tired" he meowed, his head drooping

"We'll get Nightdawn then find a place to rest, far from the Twolegs' nest," Smokepaw assured.

"good" he meowed, yawning again.

"Let's go ahead, we'll make you settle down," she said, standing up. She moved closer to Stormfeather, her pelt brushing his. She burned.

he leaned against her greatfully, his eyes already half closed

Smokepaw smiled at Stormfeather, and licked his ear. She felt like blurting out her true feelings, but she didn't dare.

Nightdawn looked stubbornly at Seaflame then padded over to the shadow, his boddy shimmered and disappeared, just his tail sticking out into the sunlight. "Happy?" he asked sarcastically.

Smokepaw looked at nightdawn and the others. "Hurry up, we need to get Stormfeather a place to sleep!" She called.

Nightdawn stepped out. "Where too.

"Somewhere far away from the Twolegplace. Can you help me?" she asked. "And that was cool, how you could disappear in to the shadows..." her eyes shined with exctiement.

Seaflame lashed his tail, extremely happy he wasn't the only one who had gotten powers. "Shadows, huh?" he mewed. "That's pretty cool."

((That would be awesome! I'm thinking of giving Rani a small power also. Maybe that it rains whenever she gets angry?))


Rani stormed away angrily, her fur spiked up.

Smokepaw looked at Rani. "Hey, Rani, can you lead us somewhere safe?" she asked.

Nightdawn shrugged. "I suppose." he said coolly, brushing past them to follow Rani. "What's the matter?"

Stormfeather was dozing in place.

Rank ignored Nightdawn and nodded to Smokepaw. "Sure. There's an alley close by." she quickly led them to it. Then she turned to Nightdawn. "What's wrong, is that you think you're so much better than me because you can take care of so many cats!!" she hissed, not really thinking it over of it was true. Dark gray clouds began to appear overhead.

Smokepaw glanced up, then settled Stormfeather down. "Rani, do you want to hunt with me?" She smiled at her.

Stormfeather tucked his nose under his paw and quickly fell asleep.

Stormfeathers flank rose and fell as he slept, walking his dreams with his sister.

Smokepaw went off to go hunting, thinking of Stormfeather and how he must miss his sister. She missed her own family too.

Stormfeather whispered in his sleep

Smokepaw caught two voles and a mouse, she brought it back. She looked at her 'brother', and she whimpered slightly because she knew that it would never work out.

Stormfeather walked in a misty land in his dream, his sister Featherstorm by his side. "where are we?" she asked, looking around. "this doesnt look familiar" Stormfeather agreed "maybe this is the next place that we must go, to a misty plain"

Blazestrike sighed, boredly.

Nightdawn's ears flattened. "Oh, poor Rani, the loner feels bad that she can't take care of so many cats..." he said sarcastically, sniffing the air. "Well, that isn't anything to be jealous of! If I could take care of so many cats, why didn't I save Morningpaw? Huh?" he demanded, staring at Rani with anger and pain in his eyes. "Protecting cats isn't the next beat thing! So.." he stopped, slumping.

((oh my gosh guys, i'm so so so sorry!! i was in italy for 9 days with 0 wifi :((((( i have no idea how to catch up and i'm sure powdertail is dead by now ))

Seaflame watched as the other cats had their share of fresh kill. "Thanks, Smokepaw," he mumbled, but as he finished his piece, he noticed he was still hungry. "I'll go hunting again," he announced quietly, getting up. His fur was ruffled and small bits of gravel from the alley where he was just lying had tangled themselves into his pelt. "Powdertail, do you want to come?"

"All right," Powdertail padded over to Seaflame, "Where should we go, do you think?" she asked him.

Smokepaw shook her head. "It's okay, you guys still need to rest, I'll go." She was exhausted, but she was determined to do the best for her friends. (She's a bit like a leader XD)

[Catfish :D]

"I'm rested enough, and you're exhausted," argued Seaflame. "We really appreciate it Smokepaw. But this quest will fail if you die of exhaustion while hunting for us. Get some sleep, you've done all that you could and more."

Smokepaw smiled gratefully at Seaflame. "Thank you--" she driffted off to sleep immediately.

Rani bristled. "You think you have it hard?! I may be a housecat now, but that doesn't mean I always was! I was born a loner with no mother and a father that was part of your mouse-brained clans!" her voice rose to a shriek at the last part.

Seaflame's eyes widened at the fighting cats, and decided to stay away so they could get through what they had to get through. "Why don't we go left? I think I saw a pond or small marsh close to where we came from," he mewed quietly to Powdertail.
