Melanor let out another rusty laugh. "Rani, you might scare him off," she joked.

Rani nodded vigorously, excited at the thought of hanging with her new friend.

"Good... Now, I need you to come with me on an adventure whe we will talk to forest cats..." Storm began.

"Forest cats?!" Rani exclaimed, interrupting him in a bewildered tone. "You don't mean to tell they're real?! I've heard stories of them but my mother always said they were myths!!"

"Oh, they're real. But I need a cat who isn't scared to face them by my side." Storm meowed.

Rani fluffed out her fur. "Im not scared!! I'll go!!" she exclaimed.

"Not yet.. Steady there..." Storm meowed, sitting down. "I'm hungry!"

"I can hunt!! I caught a vole for Melanor earlier!!" Rani exclaimed.

"Would you catch one for me?" Storm asked.

Melanor flattened her ears. "You can't take Rani away from her home," she rasped angrily, her short, ragged fur bristling. "And you can't order her around, either!" She hissed, her yellow broken teeth displayed.

Storm smiled, "I was just asking her if she'd like to catch one for me. And I won't take her away, I was just giving her some adventure. You could come as well." He offered, thinking. This one has some wit about her.

Melanor scowled. "You'd have to give me details. What exactly are you doing?"

Storm shrugged, "I'm not sure actually, I could use some help from a wise cat like you." He said. "I do know that I want to help the forest cats be so not savage and bloodthirsty."

Melanor smiled crookedly with amusement. "Well, you're sure a charmer," she laughed croakily. She stopped, looking doubtful. "I'll need to go if Rani goes," she muttered to herself.

Rani nodded vigorously, dashing off. A blackbird flitted around near her garden. Gathering all her strength, she leapt into the air, grabbing the big bird with her claws and dragging him down, swiftly nipping his neck. Then she raced back to Storm. "I couldn't find any voles." she panted, dropping the blackbird at his paws.

Storm purred, "It's okay! This is very good, would you like some?" He asked,daintly biting a piece.

Rani shook her head. "I had a robin this morning!" she chirped. "Those dry pellets my twolegs feed me are disgusting!"

"I agree..." Storm said, with a nod. He curled hsi lip.

Melanor stood up again. "I'm getting some water," she mewed gruffly, then shook her pelt out before padding stiffly down the alleyway.

"We will wait for the wise one." Storm said, nodding at Melanor.

Rani scampered over to pad with Melanor. "Do you want me to help you?" she offered kindly.

Melanor smiled. "No, I'm okay. There's a puddle over there, look. What, did you think I couldn't do it myself?" she purred in mock anger.

Rani backed away, saddness clouding her gaze. "Sorry..." she mumbled.

Melanor cuffed Rani gently on the ear. "I didn't mean it, Rani! Now, are you going to show me where you catch all that prey?"

Rani smiled again. "I don't think I should!" she teased.

Storm watched them with narrowed eyes. Rani will be a valuable asset, Melanor... I'm not so sure about...

Missy had almost replied to Melanor but she had then seen a butterfly to chase and ran after it. She loved having freedom she soon made her way back to the others "Oh by the way Melanor to answer your question from earlier no I dont have any food right now but we could go get some if you want?"

Storm nodded to the new cat. "Hello, my name is storm."

Melanor flicked her ears. "It's okay, Missy, I'm good for now," she croaked, smiling.

"Can we go now?" Rani squeaked, rearing up on her hind legs and balancing to look Storm in the eyes.

Storm nodded. "Let's go.." He meowed. "Wise one, are you coming?" He asked.

Rani fell back onto all four paws and skipped around him happily. "Yipee!!"

"Wise one?" laughed Melanor, finishing with a cough. "I'm coming," she mewed. "It'll be good for me, too," she added raspily.

Storm smiled. "Good, let's go."

Rani dashed to the end of the alley and dashed back, then to the end again, and back again. "Come slow-pokes!!" she yipped.

Melanor padded after Rani, flicking her tail. She wasn't a weak cat, and although she was old, the journey would be a somewhat easy walk for her.

Melanor grunted as she shifted in her next of rags. She flicked her ears-Rani hadn't come yet. Getting slightly woried, Melanor decided to stay put-the young kitten was probably making new friends.

Rani skipped into the alley. "Melanor! Guess who I found!" she motioned to the clan cat group following her. "Can they stay the night? I think some are injured or something...Please?! Please please please!! I promise I'll catch you two voles!" she begged, bouncing around.
