Smokepaw had a dream where she was back in the clearing with her sisters. There was a looming figure over her...her mother? No. Her father.

Featherstorm and Stormfeather groomed each other, their eyes scanning the unfamiliar land around them.

Blazestrike watched Rani and Nightdawn to make sure they didn't start fighting with claws.

Nightdawn bristled. "My mother was killed Andersen I was a kit and I never knew my father, stop acting like your better than us just cause your. House cat!" he hissed, his fur spreading out.

Smokepaw dreamed of her sisters and her mother. A wave of red blood came crashing down on them and she couldn't help. She screamed and woke up. She ran off towards the forests, wishing that she could go back to them. Were they safe? Where was her father? She paced around, crying.

Stormfeather woke with a jolt, mewling quietly in dismay as his sister slipped away from him. He saw Smokepaw and went over to her. "is everything alright?" he asked

"Sounds like a plan," Powdertail replied, edging away from Rani and the others. "C'mon, before this gets too bad and we need to help."

Smokepaw whirled around, and unsheathed her claws. She dug them into the dirt when she saw it was only Stormfeather. "I'm fine," she mumbled, embarrassed.

Rani's fur spiked up and stuck out until she was about twice her size, yet not as big as Nightdawn. "You fox-hearted mouse-brain! I can't believe you just said that! I have it easy?! You have no idea!!" she snarled. Her tail tip trembled slightly and her eyes flashed. And her pretty blue eyes gittered with sadness as she remebered.
Help up Rani! Help! Don't let him kill us! she heard the voices in her head again and she flattened her ears. A whimper escaped her and she sank to the ground and put her paws over her ears.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry, Nila, Kiko, Hallie, Lightning, Marson...." she murmured pitifully in a barely audible voice.

Stormfeather circled around her and muttered "sounded like you had a nightmare"

Seaflame had already padded out with Powdertail. He breathed in the air-it was Twolegplace, but could swear he could smell the air of the forest.

Nightdawn stopped, looking at her worriedly. "hey, I didn't really mean that.." he said, trailing off. "Are you alright?"

Rani shook her head, squeezing her eyes shut as the memories she'd tried so hard to block out flooded her again.

Smokepaw nodded, crying. "I did. It was about my family."

"i thought so. dont worry, everything is fine okay? it was just a nightmare, it wasnt real" he purred soothingly.

Smokepaw settled down on the forest floor, still crying. "Oh Stormfeather, there was a wave of blood that just came crashing down on them, and I couldn't help them! We don't know how to swim even! And there was a shadow...my father. I've never met him before. I dremt that he...k-killed me...Maybe I deserve to die Stormfeather!" she sobbed.

Stormfeather cuffed her sharply "dont EVER say that smokepaw!" he meowed sharply "all who live, even Twolegs and our enemies badgers and foxes deserve to live! Death is never the answer and causes more grief then it fixes!"

Smokepaw wailed, "But I feel like I'm doing everything wrong. I'm a burden, I know I am!"

"no your not" he meowed, gentler now. "You just havent reached your true potential. Besides, i think feeding everyone makes you not a burdon" he added

Smokepaw sniffled, smiling a little bit. "Thank you Stormfeather."

he smiled back, pressing against her "no problem. I understand that you miss your siblings" he meowed, his voice grew softer with sadness as he meowed "I miss Featherstorm too"

Smokepaw licked his ear. "Stormfeather..I..." she started to say. ((XD The confesion!)

Smokepaw pulled away, blushing. "I really like you," she stammered.

Smokepaw shuffled. "I'm going hunting, bye!" Am I stupid or what? she thought.

Stormbreeze was walking around the clearing.

"wait!" he meowed, using his tail to stop her "Im sorry if that sounded rude....ive never met a cat that could stand me besides my sister"

((nightdawn got his powers, he got in to a fight with Rani, and they got Stormfeather out of the Twolegplace where takes us to somewhere over the rainbow! TEEHEE))

Smokepaw felt herself get hot. "I can, I can't see why no one else can."

he smiled and meowed "then youve never heard me speak near my sister"

Smokepaw laughed, cooling down. Then she was worried. She shifted. What if Stormfeather didn't feel the same way about her?

Stormfeather rested his head on hers and meowed "Smokepaw, you are sweet, kind caring smart and intelligent, qualities that are not always found in the same she-cat. I do not know if my feelings are quite as strong as yours, but i do like you"

Smokepaw looked up at Stormfeather's eyes, hot again. "Don't force it on yourself," she protested.

"im not, its just i know not what it is like to love anything other than my sister" he explained

"I don't know either, but I'm doing it," she whispered. "Oh Stormfeather, you're the closest cat I have now."

Stormfeather pulled her close with his paw and tucked her under his chin "you are as close to me as Featherstorm" he meowed, having nothing else to compare their bond with.

Smokepaw smiled. "How close is that?"

"Me and Featherstorm are so close that we have been sharing dreams since we were seperated" he meowed. "though we are apart in body, we are united in spirit."

Smokepaw grinned. "That's great! You really are close. My sisters and I aren't." her smiled faded away.

"you are closer than you think." he reassured her "though you might...er...bicker and fight, your love for each other shall never change."

Rani jumped to her paws, her eyes flashing. SHe unsheathed her paws and out of nowhere, lashed out and tripped the warrior, making him fall to the ground. Then she darted off down the road in search of Melanor. She skidded into the old elder's alley. "Melanor!" she cried, falling down on her side beside the old cat who had seemed like a mother to her. "Melanor, the memories won't go away." she whimpered.

Melanor lifted her head in worry, her ears were already pricked when she first heard Rani's cries. "Hush," she whispered to the small cat, knowing exactly what was going through her mind. Melanor held Rani closer, letting her cry her emotions out. "There was nothing you could do. They understand that," she whispered after a while. "And you have to too."

Rani nodded and sniffled, crying more.

"she will be fine until i return....she was always better at coping when we were apart then i was" Stormfeather admitted
