In 48 hours, the US will decide whether or not 2 million children in developing countries will be able to attend school -- and it won’t cost them an extra penny.

Right now, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is weighing how much to give the Global Partnership for Education and a US refusal to donate would set the whole project up for failure. This is not new money, but money that already sits in the budget, a third of which they fail to spend each year! But pressure to cut across the board means that education funding already promised could be taken away -- our call for children’s future could be the push Clinton needs to protect education money.

Experts say that investing in education sets the stage for achieving every other development goal, from health care to employment. Just a fraction of what the US has spent to bail out its banks could unleash a teaching transformation across poor countries. Send an urgent message to Secretary Clinton now, and let’s make the US a champion for children worldwide.
