I found it slow going at first but now I'm really getting into it. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is narrating.

I'm not far in but I'm loving the unusual prose and how it's narrated by different voices.
I don't quite know what's going on yet but it's all very intriguing ...

I agree Ness, I didn't think I would like this at all but it starts to get much better about a third of the way through. I do like how it's written though, very different to most things I've read. :)

reminds me slightly of the magic toyshop. It's not a heavy read but it does make me tired. It's quite a cold, matter of fact book.

I only started reading this morning, but it reminds me of The Magic Toyshop, too. I didn't like that much, though, so I'm hoping that this picks up a little. I rather like it's narrative strangeness, though -- it's certainly keeping me on my toes :)

Isn't strange that it's published by Picador? Maybe it's just me, found that odd and funny coincidence :)

I think it's another book we could be divided on, like The Magic Toyshop (which I loved) but then I adore all Angela Carter's work.
I am drawn to strange narration. I find that this book flows more though than The Night Circus did at first ... but I think the writing here is a bit more clever. I've put that one on hold for a little while to read WifW ... I'll come back to it when I finish this one :)

I have finished the book, I finally got into it half way through and found it much easier to read. I quite enjoyed the story but am a little confused at parts

I was like that at first, too, but it really does get interesting. You'll see ;)
