Frank's here too, Dustin and Al my alter ego."
Al, have you ever been to Hocking Hills? It's about 60 mi. southeast of Columbus and is the most beautiful place in the entire state.
Sorry for changing the subject. I am sleepy. I love how this thread has just about quadrupled in size in the last hour. It's because I'm here, right? Right?? Anyone?

Christopher, Rachel is correct with Lightning too - very good and well worth the read especially if you like stories with time travel element to them like Back to the Future.

Because you secretly think that I am DK's alter ego, and he lives in California.

Cold Fire doesn't sound familar. What's a brief synopsis of it?

Well I'd say it's a combination of J.S. and Crazy Al, when you get two writers together like this and with a help of particular other peoples (Rachel, Christoper, and a Crazy Little Brown Owl)...this is the result. It don't happen often.... a rare combination.

Windmills! "Whoosh, Whoosh" - The Windmill
If you haven't read this book you should really make this a priority and if you don't remember reading a Koontz book with windmills, you have not read Cold Fire!

yes, that must be what I was thinking :-)
actually it's probably because you did a book signing in California. You keep posting on GR and FB about your book signings and maybe that was why, because you were in California for a book signing - my mind put you in the category of living there with a certain other great writer.

It wasn't me! I've only had book signings in Ohio and Kentucky, and the only time I've ever been to CA was three years ago when my oddball and I were staying in Phoenix, AZ, and one day we're like, "You know what? We're gonna drive to L.A. just to say we did." It was a 7-hour drive from Phoenix to Los Angeles. We stopped for lunch, walked out on the Santa Monica Pier, and drove back to Phoenix.
Good times.
But we did pass a several-mile stretch of wind turbines that went as far as the eye could see, and they're kind of like windmills.

Rachel and Christopher, if you have not read Relentless (in which we meet Shearman Waxx) you should surely put it on your to read list too. Relentless is my third favorite Dean Koontz book and one I have re-read several times :-)

if life expectancy is #1, relentless is #3 and coldfire is #4 what is #2? (lightning perhaps ;)

you ask the librarian at your library if she can get the book for you from another library

No no, you got it all wrong - just kidding, you got it almost right :-)
Life Expectancy is #1, By the Light of the Moon is #2, Relentless is #3 and Cold Fire is #4. That's as far as I am committed to rank because I keep changing my mind on the ranking beyond that, but I really do like Lightning and I love to hear rolling thunder too :-)

Even in Ohio, I'm sure they have an inter-library loan program. Ask your librarian for more information. FYI if your librarian is not a woman, then he is probably a man if not an alien or mutant of some kind

See, I'm not the only one who has trouble ranking Koontz favorites. Al can only get to six before she runs into trouble.

There is a really good recent movie called Robot and Frank. I think it is just the thing for you Alex! It has a character named Frank for crying out loud! (even though Frank is an old man)
Anyway in the film in the near future, there are robots that help the elderly and people stop using libraries because everything is available online ebooks etc. There is also a robot that helps in the library with the librarian who is played by Susan Sarandon.

You must see this movie!
Turtle Man? And why come you don't like Susan Sarandon? :-( She was also in another of my favorite movies from earlier this year called Jeff, Who Lives at Home (this film really shows the interconnectedness of things)- these are the kind of movies I love!

Ha. Ha. (not really laughing) I like the DK Website too. Fantastic Fiction website seems to have earlier updates about new releases though. Such as Odd Interlude to be released in paperback this December? Didn't see that on the Dean Koontz website, now did we?
