Is it bad to re-read books?

I usually don't re-read books because since there are thousands of books out there, there are new worlds to explore. But it is true that re-reading books can be a totally different experience. When you re-read a book after a couple of years, you might approach it with a different perspective. You may also notice plenty of things you didn't before. Since you've read that book before, as you re-read it,you might notice the way the story builds up towards the end.On the other hand, there are books that never get old. For example, ı have a book that ı've read 3 times and ı've cried every time even though ı knew the end.Or simply you can just re-read your favorite part of a book... :)
No. But it's rare for me to re-read books. I usually browse when I forgot something.. or just when I feel like to re-read.
i dont think it is at all i love re-reading books because its fun to re-live that memory, especially if its your favourite
If you like a certain song, you'll probably listen to it again and again over the years. You'll look at movies again. Why not books? There aren't a lot of books I re-read a lot, but some. Wind in the Willows. A Wrinkle in Time. The Harry Potter series. Several adult mystery series. It's like visiting with old friends. Why wouldn't you do it?
I've re read only a few books. There have been some points I've wanted to re read, but then the movie came out. :)
I think re-reading a book is fun and great even after maybe only a week after reading it. Because, if its a thick book you arent going to remember everything. So its great to refresh ur memory. To me its just like watching a movie over and over
What ever put it in your head that rereading is wrong? I LOVE rereading whenever I'm out of good things to read, especially for my favorite books.
No, I don't see anything wrong with re-reading books! I've probably read The Outsiders at least two or three times and some others I can't remember! I usually re-read books if I want to keep my memory fresh on them or if I just really like the book! I think it's even a good idea to re-read books, sometimes you'll find something that you didn't notice before and might even make a book less confusing perhaps, verses you only reading it once! Sure you know the ending of the book already, but if you really love the book, you'll still have the same excitement picking it up reading it again as when you first read it!
(Wow that was long!)
i reread books when i have read all my books
Re-reading is AWEOSOME!! I don't see what is wrong with it, even thought I barely do it, 'cause i always have a book to read as SOON as I finish the other, but I HAVE re-read stuff, and I like it.
Re-reading is important in a way. But re-reading is PERFECTLY FINE!!

EXACTLY!!!! There you go everyone, ONE PERSON AGREES, and THERE ARE THOUSAND MORE!!! ha LOL :D
Re-reading makes you see the details that you missed, and unexplainable things that makes sense now that you've read the ending. I would re-read a book I love. It always takes me to good memories. And if you can experience a great adventure more than once, why not?
There are certain books that when you are done, you feel so connected to the characters that you have to read again. There have been multiple times I have been sad as I near the end, knowing that my time with the characters is almost over... I miss them when the book is done... those are the ones I re-read.It's like a good movie... if it's that good, you rewatch... if its just mediocre, then I move to the next...
its not bad to reread books it depends on the person some like to and some dont i dont like to reread books because i already know whats going to happen but thats just me
Usually, I re-read a book when I wanna read the sequel but have already forgotten the original work.
It’s surely not bad to reread books. Of course, the book won’t feel as fresh as the first time you read it, but it’s still good if you like the story! This fact is quite embarrassing: I’ve read and reread Harry Potter series for about 10 times.
Hehe, it's not embarrassing at all, Ella :)I usually re-read books when someone brings it up or something reminds me of it. I just feel so nostalgic that I HAVE to re-read it, and if not that, I look at some of my favorite parts and just sit and smile until told otherwise.

I love that sentence, Anilee. It's so true, and it puts it so beautif..."
SO true! Books I love become like dear friends, the more time you spend with them, the more you get to learn about and appreciate them. I pick up so many things in my re-reads. And I do read other books LOTS of other books, but sometimes I'll just go "I want to read Ella Enchanted again!" or "I want to visit Redwall today," or "Does that happen exactly the way they did it in the movie?" It is extremely enjoyable to re-read books! There are some I've read more than 10 times! Others that I have on audiobook, well over 30 times! It's not a crime or a waste to re-read a book. Enjoying yourself in a non-harmful manner is by no means wasteful.
