Unlawfully Wedded Bride (Love Inspired Historical) by Noelle Marchand

How exciting to have Nathan Rutledge, the hero from Unlawfully Wedded Bride, an October release from Love Inspired Historical with us today!

1. Tell me the most interesting thing about you.
Well, first of all, thanks for inviting me to talk to you today. That sure was nice of you. To answer your question, I guess the most interesting thing about me at the moment is that I answered an advertisement for a mail-order groom. I know what you’re thinking… so stop. Seriously though, I was looking for a new start after it felt like God took my plans and scattered them to the wind. That’s why Kate and her family seemed heaven sent. Despite Kate’s determination to get an annulment, I’m not entirely convinced that they aren’t.

2. What do you do for fun?
I love riding my horse Delilah. She’s a filly to be proud of. I trained her well but there’s just enough wildness left in her to keep things interesting. Also, I probably shouldn’t admit to this. Is Kate listening? Then I’ll tell you. She’s awfully fun to tease. When she’s angry her cheeks get kind of pink and her voice takes on the slight lilt of an Irish accent… Alright I think I’ve said too much.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
Meeting up with my old “friend” Jeremiah Fulton. He just can’t seem to get through his head that it isn’t my fault his brother died. Can we move on? I don’t like to talk about this.

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
You don’t pull any punches do you? Well, I guess I’m afraid that my faults and failures will keep me from reaching God’s will for my life.

5. What do you want out of life?
A new beginning. I’d certainly like it to be here on the farm with Kate, Sean, Ellie, and Lawson. I’m doing my best to get it but I’m just not sure it’s possible.

6. What is the most important thing to you?
Right now, the most important thing to me is helping Kate with her farm to make sure it doesn’t get foreclosed on. Oh, and God. He’s pretty important. I probably should have said him first, shouldn’t I?

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?
I don’t have time to read. I have chores to do, a family to save, a past to outrun… Be sure you tell Kate I said that about the family to save. You’ll be able to see what I said earlier about that temper of hers.

8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d change my past. Does that count? I hope so because I’d do a few things differently if I had a chance. Then again, if my past hadn’t brought me to a place where I’d answer that ad, where would I be now?

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?
Delilah would be really upset if I called her a pet so I won’t . The O’Briens and I found a dog we named it Lasso after… a lasso. We also have a cat we named Flick. I’m not sure why the children picked that name.

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?
You know what? I know I said I’d change my past but when it comes down to it I wouldn’t want to go back to anything. I’d rather travel ahead in time to see how my book ends. I’ve heard the ending is pretty good. I really hope that means I get to stay. You wouldn’t give me a hint, would you? No? Well then I guess this interview is over. I’m just teasing but I’d really better get back to work. Y’all have a good day now!
