Kyra The writers have said they're making it super hard to forgive Charming on purpose, then they're gonna make us love him again.
The thing with all of these people are, they are the opposite of their fairytale counterparts, not being who they truly are in our world.
For example, in FTL, James is "brave" and "noble," but here David is "scared" and "cowardly." Snow White is "fearless" and "confident," where here Mary M. is very "timid" and "unsure of herself." Jiminy is a "conscience" and "voice of truth," where Archie is "willing to lie out of fear." Cinderella was willing to "fight for her baby," but Ashley ran away and Emma fought for her.
This curse was made to make people as unhappy as possible, and the opposite of their true selves is, well, think about it. Their true selves contain honorable qualities, which the curse takes away. These peoples lives were literally "ripped from them," and now they're are stuck in between since Emma has come home(in a sense).
The thing with David is, being cowardly doesn't help the fact that the Queen's put "memories" of love for Kathryn in him, but he has true love for Mary M. Well, that just makes it harder.

On another (spoiler)note about the "Hat Trick" episode, (view spoiler)

Mia (hotwolfie) | 24 comments I think you might be right about "Hat Trick." I suspect that Regina is actually a specfic queen and that it might be revealed in that episode.

Yes, in one episode (might have been when Sidney wrote about her in the paper), Emma was reading an article titled something like "7 year old boy finds baby on the side of the road."
Well...there are two episodes about Mr. Gold being Rumple/The Beast (as in Beauty in the Beast: Episode "Skin Deep"). The other (forget what it's called) is about him becoming The Dark One.

Kyra Yes! And that accent...ooo... so freakin' tragic!

Anyway, I loved Red-Handed! It was cool and at the beginning when Snow was looking so sad, I felt so bad, I wanted to hug her! And I love Ruby! She's so sweet yet bad ass, and I felt really bad (and mildly disgusted) that (view spoiler)

E.L. (eleighanne) | 67 comments Yea and he stole the book, made a copy of it and seems to know about the town, weather or not that's because of the book or not I have no clue. And the mayor seems to think she knows him and that makes me really to know who he is...good guy or bad guy...
And did anyone else notice that Mr. Hooper's dog's name is Pongo like 101 Dalmations? lol

message 175: by Christie (new)

Christie Rich | 335 comments I didn't notice that about the dog. That's funny! I think the strager is the author of the book. I'm not sure what role he will play, but some have suggested that he made changes to the book they have now.

message 188: by Mia (new)

Mia (hotwolfie) | 24 comments I agree, awesome episode! I just love Rumple!

Man, I can't believe how much I love Prince Charming, and I hate "David." Charming lives up to his name, and then David's just kind of a bland, himbo.

The writers sure kill a lot of people off on this show. I wasn't expecting such a large body count from a fairy tale oriented show.

message 189: by Mayra (new)

Mayra (kaligurl_7) | 305 comments thats true but alot of the original fairytales dont have that happily ever after ending that we've all learned from disney

i cant wait for the next episode

message 191: by Kyra (new)

Kyra I'm sooo excited for the Mad Hatter!!! He is gorgeous and I absolutely love Alice in Wonderland, so this should be good!!!

message 192: by Kristen (new)

Kristen I love this show, but does anyone else wonder where all the people are? I mean, every fairy tale has it's own kingdom, right? And each kingdom would probably have at least a few hundred people aside from the major characters. All together, it should be ALOT of people. A city's worth, I would think. But Storybrook is a pretty small town.
So, what happened to everyone?

Also, anyone have any ideas who that guy is? The writer?

Kyra Kristen wrote: "I love this show, but does anyone else wonder where all the people are? I mean, every fairy tale has it's own kingdom, right? And each kingdom would probably have at least a few hundred people asid..."

Well, I live in a smaller town than Storybrooke in the mountains and of people who actually LIVE here there's at least 350 people, but we are close to city's and other towns. But the creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have said that Storybrooke might be bigger than it seems in interviews, so... dun, dun, dun! Haha, JK:)

On August the Writer, I think he MIGHT be Pinocchio or Rumple's son, since both make some sense, if you read these boards: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843230/b..., but his character is to be revealed in the episode The Stranger, airing in a few weeks.

message 194: by Mayra (new)

Mayra (kaligurl_7) | 305 comments why would u think its pinnocio?

message 195: by Kyra (last edited Mar 23, 2012 05:03PM) (new)

Kyra I've read about it on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843230/b...

They make some pretty good arguments, but I'm not completely sold yet.

My reason for why he could be Pinocchio has more to do with how Pinocchio could have gotten here, as I've read from other viewers on IMDb, even though I think Pinnocchio is more likely just be a puppet in our world.
SO: Pinocchio was in the 'tree' when Emma was transported. I think that he was made from the tree and therefore was actually transformed back to wood when it was created into a portal. They kept on emphasizing that it could only hold one person. Wouldn't it be convenient if Pinocchio was changed back into wood for this to hold true???
And, like Archie was changed from a cricket to human during the journey to SB, I think that Pinocchio was changed into a real boy. -Theory from strwbryelf

How he'd have gotten in the tree, that's Gepetto's doing. Of coarse having made the tree, and being a loving father, could have caused him to want his son to be safe, right? Plus, there are pictures of Pinocchio and Gepetto from the episode on some fan site.

For me, it's more likely he's Rumple's son, but I guess we don't really know until The Stranger Episode!

Kyra Mayra wrote: "Hat trick? anyone.... what did you think?"

BEST EPISODE YET... next to Skin Deep! I really like the Mad Hatter/Jefferson! The way he was so heartbroken over losing his daughter... I had tears forming behind my eyes.
The way he was w/ Emma was also really... hot! There was definitely some interesting tension right there! (If you know what I mean;) Even if he kidnapped her and Mary... he was driven mad by the separation from his daughter, which was really sweet. (Plus he's cute!)

message 199: by Mayra (new)

Mayra (kaligurl_7) | 305 comments yeah he is really cute :) .... yeah it was good to understand why he's so mad..... i kept thinking of johnny depp lol.... but yeah it was good, and the fact that is bc he lost his daughter bc of regina.... and henry is happy because now emma is more interested in operation cobra
