Leo... well he'd be used to that, the only reason Jason would do that is because he's trying to learn his surroundings however odd they may be. But again u never know... though it'd be very sweet <3 I also agree so much about the Jason not remembering Reyna thing! Seriously that point always just makes me want to hit my head on my desk. Why the heck would he feel guilty about Piper if he really liked Reyna before? It wouldn't make any sense at all. And I kinda liked how she kept the praetor spot open for so long, wishing Jason would come back <3 she never ever once thought he was dead, sounds familiar to a certain couple? (Titan's Curse, Percy :3) U know someone really cares for someone if they think that. I also agree with the Aphrodite comment. he often does favour people (ex. Percy and Annabeth) but did that really stop Percy from falling in love with Calypos? And yes I know she had a curse that said she would fall in love with ever hero to come on her land but again HER, not the heroes. It was they're choice and Percy said she would be the biggest what if of his life (But he's still going with Annabeth, sorry RR but that card if not meant to be played, ever... u go that right... no no no no no no no no no Percabeth forever man) So even if she does have a lot of control her love, it doesn't always mean it'll turn in her favour. And I also think Piper is not a Mary Sue. I agree with those flaws but there r more like...
-She can be too self-centred (I mean come on she pulled stunts just to get her dad to notice her, but if I put myself in her position, never having a dad to be around I guess I would have done some stupid things too, because... they're family, you know, some people might not get it but if u really look from her point of view...)
-Maybe a bit judgemental (After all she thought Popular and Aphrodite kids were nothing but a few swallow stupid kids, without enough IQ points to count to 10, and she was also wary of herself turing into them, like wearing nice clothes will make u more down to earth, sometimes that makes you more of a snob -.-)
-Stubborn (U seriosly try to stand up and be the tough girl when u have a broken ankle? Seriously.. though I kinda liked that about her...)
-A bit of Unbalanced Loyalty (She was gonna sacrifice her dad... but gain remember Percy also made that choice too, and there was the whole world to think about too, not just her friends)
- A Temper (Again Drew ois lucky to be alive...)
If u look more she does have tons of flaws but you just have to look for them more than other characters. Someone was giving this book review and I really loved her point that a character couldn't be a Mary Sue if she had a personality, Piper does have a personality,, goods and bad just like a regular person. In fact sometimes I can relate to her more than others, because she's more of a regular kid than others. And about her being whiny... again compared to others, yeah a little whiny but again put urself in her position, never seeing ur parents always feeling thrown away, u guys really wouldn't whine just a bit over that? I would. Heck, sometimes I don't realize how lucky I am that I have parents that try their hardest to bond with me but imagine one that doesn't try. It's hard on a kid so I don't take any points off for that. In fact I kinda like her more for that cause again, I can relate more. Maybe that's the whole point of her charrie. Drag readers in more to the fantasy, see themselves in situations and stuff. Piper was just never meant to have a life like others. But them again she's a kid in a full pledged war now. With absolutely no experience, how fun? But then again I agree with all the stuff u read about Reyna, she is positively awesome! I would say again I don't really know who to chose. That's just up to Jason I guess :P

Well, about the part about her parents, I have parents like that, too. They work SO MUCH and my dad lives in Washington DC (he used to live in New Jersey) for his work and barely comes home. And my mom...well...I don't get to see her too much. It's just me and my sistaz and I have 2 take care of them. And my parents fight - A LOT!!!!
I've learned to toughen up and I think Piper should do the same. I know that my parents aren't gonna get along and that we'll all be a big happy family, so I've accepted that. I think Piper needs to do that.

I can see that we have different views of a Mary-Sue. In truth, there is no such things as a true Mary-Sue. A way to judge a Mary-Sue is by their "flaws." What's truly a flaw is something that gets someone in trouble. Has Piper's temper got anyone in trouble? No, it HELPED her. Has her stuborness got anyone in trouble? No. It made people admire her more.

Well same year man. My dads a freakin truck driver, how much do u think I get to see of him? A lot of times he and my mom fight and guess what I've toughened up too, doesn't mean I still don't want change. Piper, yeah maybe she's too much of an optimist, thinking these stunts as the only thing that can FINALLY get her dad back. That just means she loves him so much more, which again I admire. And also, u get to see some of ur family, sisters. No matter what family always makes u strive through. Piper has NO ONE truly except her dad. That can also make a big difference.

When has her temper helped? Or stubbornness? For stubborn she was just resisting her injuries she obviously couldn't fight with while her friends risked their life to save her.... That helped her A LOT? And yes it made me admire her but annoy me at the same time. Really annoy me. -.- Pointless. Temper well, ok well it could help with charm speak but that's about it. Couldn't she just as easily snap at her friends? Yeah that's how a temper works, it doesn't just get u mad at one thing, it makes u blow up at everything that annoys u. That'll TOTALLY help with peace. A way to make her a Mary Sye was add logic to her. I mean wouldn't that cancel out everything. Her stubbornness (would a logical person really writh helplessly on the floor? Couldn't she just have charm speaker them away? No she just HAD to fight), her temper (would a logical person take a swing at bullies every time that annoyed her?) her recklessness (would a logical person steal just to have their father notice them?) possessiveness (would a logical person really go all out on trying to make someone she had fake memories with her boy friend?) Whineiness (would a logical person really go on and on about their father not noticing them?) Loyalty Miss Placement (would a logical person argue about saving her dad over the world?) Self Centered (would a logical person really steal for attention knowing it would get her in even more trouble then the first place?) The list goes on and on and all the answers are no. All flaws mess her over, or at the very least make her look like a blundering fool character that sometimes seems to need somesones advice either then her own. But that's ok, she has pros and cons in her character which again make her more human.

Actually people admire her more because of her temper (they think it makes her fiery and strong), her possessiveness (they think that Piper doesn't let anyone push her around about Jason), whininess (they think she has a terrible life and that she has the right to do that). And they argue that Piper isn't selfcentered and that she just needs attention. They admire her more because of all those so called "flaws."

Also about her stuborness and temper, it didn't hurt the quest either. Her actions have no impacting consequences. Her secret about her dad? Oh please, it's understandable that she loved her dad so much that she considered giving up the world for him. That just makes her more loyal.

Not dude, most people that hate her list all those flaws as an insult, and trust me I've seen my fair share of Piper bashing on the Internet (brutle if I might say so myself O.O) I think they're flaws that would make u hate/love her u know? Like u don't get her whining, that makes u hate her, well not hate, dislike, I think. Other people feel the same as u, and others feel sympathetic. Loyalty, dad vs. world or dad vs. friends, when u look at the friends part a lot of people thought that was stupid, especially for Jason (I mean she barely knows him right? Kinda lame to risk ur dad for him. And most of the time she thought about him not the world at stake) The world vs. Dad, better, but illogical. People could think it was a stupid reckless desision to almost chose her dad or stupid to chose her friends. I thought it was kinda stupid. Like Athena said to Percy, shes got to learn how to control that. U did say that real flaws get the character and friends, family, etc. in trouble. That could very well get her in trouble. The temper and stubbornness well I don't know... If the hunters hadn't come and such I think her desision to stay on the floor and try to fight would have affected them as she coukd have just charmspeaked them away... Temper, well that messed her over tons of times, fighting the popular kids and such. I don't think it helped the popular kids either... Unless they like broken noses....Look I'm not disagreeing that those flaws could make her admired, but also hated. A stupid or Brave act.

I don't know. i don't think Reyna is going to freak out that Jason has found a girl he really likes. Cuz in SoN Percy had asked Reyna if they had an actual relationship and Reyna responded that Praetors often ended up having an impending relationship.

Wow, been a long time. Okay, a Mary-Sue is judged by how the characters see him/her, not by how the readers see him/her. One could argue that Drew being mean to Piper would make her more human, BUT, if you look closely, you can see that Drew is jealous of Piper. Honestly, that makes her more of a Mary-Sue.
What really irritates me are how the villains fall in love with her. Yes, she's a daughter of love but then, she complains about her beauty right after that. HER BEAUTY SAVES HER, YET she complains!

Honestly, I think that Drew has more potential than Piper. When Drew didn't fight back like a real high school queen bee would, it led me to believe that there's something deeper to her. Something more...I dunno. Let's hope that Ricky makes my wishes come true.

Meh no. No no no no no no. Nooooo Drew. I don't care for her, never have never will. I like Octavian better any day. He's more twisted, deep nd convoluted than her any day. She's just like a minor annoyance that I don't want to see of. Never. Ever.
And that's kinda the point at times don't you think? This is all in her head. She wouldn't be that much of a fool to complain to everyone as much as she does in there. That's one of the reasons why Rick gave her a POV. When your character is doing all they can to look like the big shot it helps you get inside their head and see that inside they're really not like that. We see what the characters don't. She has flaws that she hides. THATS why no one else sees them. But here's the thing, if her thoughts are still the same old' Piper. Stubborn, complaining, etc. then that's the true her. And it can be brought out. That's probably the whole thing Uncle Rick would try to go for. Make her all great and whatever but show that's she's not all perfect in the end. If she reveals some of these thoughts to the seven then well maybe it shows more trust. It shows more humanity. It shows more Piper. I under no consideration would ever believe RR would write a Mary Sue. You've seen the inside of her head, you've seen she's not perfect. And that also means she can show in times of vulnerability if she's pushed to it.

Let's think of this in a real life situation. My flaws have been called out many times. My stubbornness whenever I'm working on a group project. My hot-headed temper many, many times. By my family, friends, siblings. Have your flaws ever been called out? I'm sure they have. But the thing with Piper and most of the new main characters by Rick Riordan is that no one ever seems to notice their flaws. Frank, I like. He's more relatable since he was pretty much the laughingstock of the entire legion. Leo was really awesome. He was a really good character. Hazel's...okay. Not my favorite...but, you know, she's...okay. I guess the characters I really have a problem with are Jason and Piper. Jason because...he just seems a little lacking, you know? Of course, I do not approve of the hate directed at him because most of it is because he's "stealing Percy's thunder."
But the hate directed at Piper is more logical. I guess that she's not as much Mary-Sue as flat. There's something missing in her character. And, I was EXTREMELY disappointed when the daughter of Aphrodite that was going to play a big part turned out to be...that.
Well, I guess I'm saying that Jason and Piper are flat. That's why I don't ship them together. If I have to read about that terrible couple, I will stab myself with a knife. (Plastic, of course!)
That's why I ship Jason and Reyna. Reyna seems more...real. I'm hoping that they'll bring out something in each other. Make Jason more...relatable. And Piper and Leo, although it's probably not going to happen, seems good. They bring out the best in each other. I could stand Piper more when she was with Leo. She seemed even...humanish.
And Leyna. I could like this pairing IF it didn't seem like a pity couple. Actually, my friend wrote the first Leyna story and the only reason she did that was because she thought, "Leo doesn't have anyone and neither does Reyna! I should pair them up!" I would prefer Leo to be a bachelor...like Sirius Black.

I haven't been, only my mom. And my dad. Sometimes my friends but we don't do that often cause you know, we're friends. Mqybe they think that but I try to control it but also use my flaws to my advantage (Stubborness, Temper, Jealousy, etc.... Sometimes it doesn't work though.. And I'm tired.. Then I look like a murderer on candy...) Why would anybody Piper didn't know randomly call her complaining. Why would Leo or Jason. Why would Annabeth? Why would they randomly start thinking "Omg Piper is soooooooo annoying. Why am I friends with her again? =D" And remember the thing I said about not showing flaws? Piper and Jason try to do this man. That's the point! That's why when they fall it'll be so much more epic and convoluted you know? II know that in real life yeah you get called out for flaws. But some peopl can also hide their flaws better then others keep that in mind. Like for me, I complain sometimes. Not to anyone but in my head :/ I stopped a bit but every time I start I want to slap myself and be like "NOOOOOOO D8<" Fantastic vocabulary eh? XD But that's the thing as I said again. They're better at hiding it is all. You see in their head they do have annoyances that make you want to stab someone. But they HIIIDDEEEEEEEE. For melodramaticness ya know. And yeah I isn't think about them being the only ones for my reasoning why I like them. I just thought they were cute and funny. Kinda like the way of Percabeth but a completely different situation. But the thing is, Reyna is not going to be a main character in the series. At least, that's what I'm thinking. So it won't be a change if Jason and Piper get together. Main character with another main character. Boring. That's why I liked Harry/Ginny. Because it was a surprise.

Not really for me *shrug* I don't care honestly. Either way I think Piper and Jason should just be left alone. Obviously they're not gonna randomly break up and honestly I wouldn't have expected Leyna, I can dream but I wouldn't expect it. Everyone expects her to go after Jason right? If she ended up with Leo I think everyone, even the Leyna fans who hope for this would be surprised. It's not only about the character placements but the characters relation to one another. Honestly if it's a couple I never expected I wouldn't have a problem if they're both main or both minor. If it can surprise me and also have a cute twist I'll be fine. I think I mentioned this before but the two leaders, son of the big three, and war goddess? Come on, just a bit too much the same. So that is why I'm not a Jeyna fan. Just predictable. The hero and girl who have known each other since they were little kids? This is a stereotypical couple (to me). It is just in every book. And it was already in PJO, so I'd rather not have it again. I just don't see it happening again.

I'm not going to be happy. Jason and Piper bring out the worst in each other. Well, maybe not the worst but they certainly don't bring out the best in each other. I believe that Leo and Piper bring out the best in each other. With Leo, Piper is more relaxed. She doesn't have to think. She's natural with him. With Piper, Leo feels better about himself. His self-esteem is raised.
A couple should bring out the best in each other. Help the characters to develop, something Jason and Piper clearly do not do.

And I think I've mentioned this before as well. The son of big three with the main heroine? Just predictable. It's obvious that Reyna's not going to be a main character. I want something like main hero with minor character.

Percy and Annabeth (duh)
I think that Frank will die. I really hope he doesn't, but I just think he will sacrifice himself, because of his 'sense of duty' and he'll let his stick burn to help save the others. Then I think Leo and Hazel will end up together.
And then I think Reyna might join the Amazons or Hunters, or maybe just be single and happy. It kinda irks me that everyone seems to think that all characters should end up with someone. I mean they're just teenagers, why cant they be single and happy? But I really hope her and Jason remain friends. Anyways.

So yeah. That's just my opinion.

I know what you're saying, but I think that Annabeth will be the main Heroine. I don't see how Jason and Reyna act together, so that's probably why I dislike Jeyna. Perhaps, if I see them react together, then I may like them more. But I'd love to see a Reyna/Percy/Annabeth (Annabeth is last because then the P in Percy faces Annabeth) love triangle. Hehehe. Then Jason gets all jealous (there was one on FanFiction like this), Piper gets upset and slaps him, everyone hates him, and then...he and Piper get back together, untrustedly.

Even if I disagree with you, I think you have some very valid points. But I think someone (Isabelle?((haven't read this part for a bit))) already said something like what I'm about to say.

Jason isn't supposed to see her flaws; romantic blah.
Leo sees them. He teases her about her temper, and all. In the demigod diaries it is finally noticed by Leo that she is sensitive about ALL of her family and it is "hard to tell which side if her family she's more sensitive about". Something like that.

Sorry for responding over and over again. But you've made me like Jeyna a whole lot more (mostly because you're right). And sorry to responding to you're posts multiple times :/.
