Let's just look at that statement. Then facepalm that anyone thinks that is a sensible position. Then shudder at the realisation of how many people would nod in agreement with it.
At the expense of belabouring the point, he is saying that it is more important to believe and do what your religion says (I note that he doesn't say WHICH religion, thereby multiplying the idiocy) than to be guided by absolute morality or those things which are demonstrable real.
