What was Mr. Gold's motive to bring back magic and the curse? I thought he wanted to break the curse. Is he just insane?
Good points have been brought up here.

Kelley - the woman who Jefferson/Mad Hatter release at the end was Belle who was Rumplstiltz's unrequited love. He thought she was dead (I don't remember why) and apparently Evil Queen was behind that. So he's a little jaded.

I don't know but I'd like to find out. One thing I find interesting is that her name in Fairytale land was Emma. I don't know any Emma in a fairytale but maybe it's short for something else, like Ella would be short for Cinderella. I'll have to think on it a while. But maybe she doesn't get a fairytale story because she didn't grow up and have a life there.
It got the same thing Kelley, that Gold did it because Belle was imprisoned, but I thought he wanted revenge on Regina, yet she smiled in the end. What's up with that? She seems pleased.

For me, TV is an escape and I just enjoy watching what's going on... if it makes me laugh and cry.. then I'm good. I think they still have a lot of cool things they can do with this show.

Sure they can tell some more stories but the that's not the issue, "Will it be better?" is my only concern.

(view spoiler)

And fans of the ABC freshman were not the only ones caught off guard by the game-changing twist.
“There was some talk about the curse being broken, but I didn’t believe it until I read it [in the script], because [series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis] are tricky that way,” Lana Parrilla recently shared with TVLine. “They don’t really tell you much, but I like that about them!”
Upon seeing the final edit of the finale — with CGI’d smoke flowing out of the well and across the land — Parrilla remarked, “It was awesome…. Unreal.” And almost green à la the ominous cloud that crept across fairytale land when the dark curse was first uncorked. “But at the last minute they changed it to purple, which is more symbolic,” Parrilla shared. “It’s a better link to something ‘magical.’”
Of course, the very final image viewers were left with as the smoke slinked through Storybrooke was that of Regina née the Evil Queen’s face – curiosity-slash-concern ultimately overridden by a smirk of satisfaction — as she cast her gaze upon what Rumpel (played by Robert Carlyle) had unleashed.
“She seems somewhat conflicted,” the actress explained. “She’s going through this huge loss with her son [Henry, now effectively Emma's ward], and yet now there is hope. If she needs magic to get her son back, then so be it.”
But let’s be clear, if magic is now available to Regina, it’s on the table for everyone – her regular impish foil included.
“I’m curious to see what happens between Rumpelstitskin and the Evil Queen…,” Parrilla mused. “I imagine that whatever it is, it is not going to be pretty!”

I will go. Lets see Jackie I live in Phx,AZ so what theater do you want to meet at.
I agree with Roxy I was not happy that they have Kristen Stewart as Snow White, but maybe she will surprise us.

I liked Kristen Stewart when she was a child actress, early teen, but ever since Twilight, she keeps playing the same awkward personality. I recently tried watching The Runaways and after 20 minutes I was sick of the awkward Bella clone in a leather jacket. What is it with her? She's annoying me. If she ruins this movie by acting the same personality, I'm never gonna watch another movie of hers again.

Ausiello: Don’t count on a time jump between seasons. “We’re picking up right where we left off, but where we left off was in the middle of a veer in a different direction,” consulting producer Jane Espenson told TVLine’s Meg Masters at last weekend’s ATX Television Festival in Austin, before reiterating, “Season 2 will be different than Season 1.”
Question: Any word on which new fairy tale characters Once Upon a Time will introduce in Season 2? —Claire
Ausiello: The frontrunner would seem to be the Little Mermaid. “I would hope Ariel would join the show,” says Espenson. “She’s one we’ve definitely talked about.” But there have certainly been others. “There are a whole lot of princesses we haven’t seen — like Aurora, Rapunzel and Jasmine,” she adds. “And it’s hard to look at that list without going, ‘Well, what about Goldilocks?!’ And they’d all be good, because what we do is take them and go, ‘Well, the thing you never knew about Little Miss Muffet is… ‘”

More Princesses? Blah. Let's not turn this into a stupid Disney movie.

Rapunzel is eh for me. Jasmine naw. Goldilocks, kinda depends on what they'll do. If it's like what they did for Red Riding Hood, I could get behind that.

The Lost alum’s future with the fantastical ABC drama seemed solid given the events of the Season 1 finale, in which Belle was sprung from Storybrooke captivity to reunite with onetime flame Rumpelstiltskin and make him aware of Regina/the Evil Queen’s duplicitous act. Still, it’s nice to see it made official with the actress’ inking of a deal.
As Once scribe Jane Espenson recently explained to us, “We cast [Emilie] thinking that she’d be great for this but that it would probably be a one-shot — but if she didn’t get a pilot and she had a good time and she’s available, we knew that of course she’d be welcome back!”
De Ravin, whose ABC pilot Americana did not get picked up for the fall, appeared in a total of three Once Upon a Time episodes during the show’s freshman run.

“Oh my gosh, honestly, it’s the thing I’m most excited for,” Goodwin shared with TVLine at the Young Hollywood Awards, where she was named this year’s Style Icon. “I can’t wait to develop the relationship between parent and child (played by Jennifer Morrison) — especially now that we’re all the same age.”
Yet with just two weeks left until cast and crew report back to Vancouver to prep for Season 2 of the ABC hit, Goodwin has not yet gotten wind of how that family reunion will go. Though she does have her theories.
“It’s the creators’ choice and Jennifer Morrison’s choice, but I would assume that there would be some kind of resentment there on the part of our daughter because of what she went through after we gave her up,” Goodwin offered, alluding to Emma’s time in the foster system. “I’m anxious to explore that.”
Goodwin said she is also curious to explore life beyond the Storybrooke town line, if the lifting of the dark curse indeed allows for that — “especially if it meant that we could shoot an episode in Hawaii!”

TVLine has learned exclusively that Bolger’s recurring character, Princess Aurora, will be introduced during the sophomore run of Once, which was last season’s highest-rated freshman drama. The fantastical series will again air Sundays at 8/7c; ABC has not yet announced their fall premiere dates.
Given Aurora’s backstory — namely, how she was cursed by Maleficent to die (or thanks to a fairy guardian, only fall into a very deep sleep) from a finger prick on a spinning wheel — one has to wonder if we have not seen the last of True Blood‘s Kristin Bauer van Straten in the fairytale land that was.
The 21-year-old Bolger’s credits include Showtime’s The Tudors (where she collected an Irish Film and Television Award for her portrayal of Mary) and the 2002 film In America, for which she earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination among other nods

Once Upon a Time: Dr. Whale's identity and who Henry's father is will be revealed in Season 2

WELCOME TO STORYBROOKE | A video montage of all of Season 1′s title cards and a few from Season 2 gave sneak peeks of three new characters coming to the show: the previously announced Mulan and Sleeping Beauty, as well as Jack (of Beanstalk fame). Meanwhile, a video message from Henry warned that “bad things are still happening in Storybrooke,” and led into a preview of a mysterious figure breaking into Mr. Gold’s shop. After shattering a glass case, the man retrieved a hook and mounted it on his hand. Yes, Captain Hook is coming! “You’re going to meet these people through our characters,” said Kitsis. “We want to make sure you get to learn about the ones you’ve already fallen in love with.”
THE TRUTH COMES OUT | Big revelations are on their way in Season 2, including Dr. Whale’s fairy tale counterpart, plus the identity of Henry’s pop! “I think Goofy is probably going to be Henry’s father,” joked Kitsis. Jennifer Morrison, who’s in on the secret about daddy dearest’s name, added, “People will be very excited to see that storyline play out when they find out, for sure.”
THE MORE THINGS CHANGE… | Although magic is now alive in Storybrooke, “the show this year is not going to change from the one you loved last year,” promised Kitsis. And while there will still be standalone episodes, the producers will also explore bigger stories like the bleed between the Storybrooke and fairy tale worlds, including “why certain things came over and for what reason,” teased Horowitz.
REAL WORLD | The residents of Storybrooke may now know who they really are, but those lives won’t just disappear. One of the questions that will be touched upon is, “What does it mean that they spent all these cursed years as these [Storybrooke people]?” previewed Horowitz.
A HUNGRY WOLF | Does the reveal of their alter-egos mean Ruby will turn wolfy? “Is that not the biggest question?” said Meghan Ory. “That would be bad.” As for who she would eat first if she had to pick, “Dr. Whale maybe,” replied the actress. “He wasn’t too nice to Ruby.”
HOMEWARD BOUND? | Why didn’t the characters make their way back to fairy tale land after the curse was broken? “We don’t know if there’s anything to go back to,” replied Kitsis.
A ROYAL ENDORSEMENT | Ginnifer Goodwin (aka Snow White) had this to say about Season 2: “I never could have conceived the brilliance that is the first couple of scripts. But as an audience member, it’s exactly what I would have wanted to see.”
FATHER & SON | “What happened to [Rumpel's son] Bae is definitely one of the dangling threads from last season, and I would be disappointed if I had to wait another season to find out,” hinted Kitsis.
SEEKING A DATE | A hilarious video from “sponsor” Singlebrooke CEO Hart Archer kicked off the festvities, with the inhabitants of Storybrooke talking about their perfect mates and describing themselves. Josh Dallas’ David described a woman with dark hair, red lips and “skin white as…milk. She’s milk white. Is that racist?” “We could hang with six of my friends,” offered up Leroy, aka Grumpy. Also spotted in the spoof: Sheriff Graham, whose ID caption read, “Mending a broken heart” and “Just look at him.”

Following in the footsteps of Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas – whose relationship became public in April – fellow costars Jennifer Morrison, 33, and Sebastian Stan (The Mad Hatter), 28, are an item, too.
"They met on set and are now exclusive," a source tells PEOPLE. "They started dating three months ago. They seem to be really happy together, but are trying to take things slow."

Sinqua Walls, who as of late has been recurring on MTV’s Teen Wolf as pack member Boyd, has been cast on ABC’s fantastical sophomore drama as Sir Lancelot, TVLine has learned exclusively.
I’m hearing that Once Upon a Time will introduce Lancelot as a “sword for hire with nothing to lose,” a onetime proud member of King Arthur’s Round Table who has since been banished, tearing him away from his true love (Queen Guinevere, as lore tells us).
Already for Season 2 (premiere date TBA), Once has cast the roles of Sleeping Beauty and Mulan, and promoted Emilie de Ravin (aka “Belle”) and Meghan Ory (Ruby/Red Riding Hood) to series regular status.
UPDATE: Walls is thus far booked for one episode as Lancelot, per ABC. The actor’s other TV credits include Friday Night Lights (playing Jamarcus Hall), The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pair of Kings.

All that said, the onetime True Blood Big Bad has nabbed a recurring role in Season 2 of ABC’s fantastical hit (premiering Sept. 30), TVLine has confirmed.
The secrecy surrounding Raymond-James’ role — which differs greatly from the several other castings reported on this summer (see Hook, Sir Lancelot, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan) — can only get us theorizing that he could be playing Baelfire. Rumpelstiltskin’s long-lost son last was seen getting pulled away from the fairytale-land-that-was through a portal to, presumably, our world. In fact, late last season we and Mr. Gold were led to believe that the mysterious August Booth was Baelfire, when in actuality he turned out to be Pinocchio.

The ABC drama has tapped the Irish thesp to join the Season 2 cast in the potentially recurring role of Captain Hook, TVLine has confirmed.
A handsome, fearsome and confident pirate ship captain, Hook relishes every challenge and never backs down from a fight, whether the reward is power, riches, or women. He possesses the meticulous style and old-school manners of a proper gentleman, but beneath that veneer lies a vindictive enemy who will not rest until all his enemies have been defeated… and humiliated.
O’Donoghue, who guest-starred on The Tudors as Duke Philip of Bavaria, is slated to debut in this season’s fourth episode.
