I'd say between a PG and a PG-13, mainly for maturity. The main characters have tension, but can't touch. One of the main girl's friends makes some poor choices, and there is some action toward the end. Lisa Mangum is an editor at Deseret Book and has been for years, if that means anything to you. I quite liked the series and look forward to reading the final book.

I just posted a review of that very book on Squeaky Clean Reads with an overview of the content (along with the second book, and the third book will be up in a few days). If you're interested in seeing it, it's right Here: The Hourglass Door! :)
We also posted a review for this book at The Literate Mother where we review books for content in Language, Violence, Sexual Content and Adult Themes. You can check the review out here.http://www.theliteratemother.org/the-...
