For me it is when Harry uses the disarming spell on Voldemort in their last battle. For me this completely sums up Harry's goodness. Even at the end, even after everything that has happened to him he still refuses to use the killing curse on his enemy. He remains completely pure! I loved it.

Definitely one of my favourite quotes!
I don't know my exact favourite moment because there are just SO many! But... hehehe...
I just find it so funny in book 6 when Hagrid and Slughorn are drunk and sing that song and Slughorn says "Dreadfull, dreadfull" or something like that, and then Hagrid says sorry! Cracks me up every time I've read the book = 8

Sorry, just an off topic comment. Just wanted to state that I think it's nice to think that we're all a bunch of people loving the same books. I don't know. The thought just makes me happy.
My favorite part is in the 6th book when he finally realizes how awesome Ginny is and that he likes her.
i personally enjoy when they are in Malfoy Manor in book 7, and Hermione is being tortured and FINALLY Luna is back, and then Dobby comes. So all my favorite characters are there :) Hermione, Luna, and Dobby

Any anyway, it's not as though I'll never see Mum again, is it?" "Er — isn't it?" said Harry uncertainly.
She shook her head in disbelief. "Oh, come on. You heard them, just behind the veil, didn't you?"
"You mean...."
"In that room with the archway. They were just lurking out of sight, that's all. You heard them."

Me too. I actually love harry potter and rowling has really created a damn good world of her own which acc. To me many of us like. Hats off J.K ROWLING.
Carly wrote: "when Harry thinks he's about to die and his mum, dad, Sirius and others come around him giving him words of encouragement! I cried a little! :("a little? i cried like hell, and still do every time i start reading the series from the beginning :(
Vipula wrote: "Me too. I actually love harry potter and rowling has really created a damn good world of her own which acc. To me many of us like. Hats off J.K ROWLING."true! what kind of monster could not like the Harry Potter books. They're full of life lessons.
Sema wrote: what kinda.... And arti wrote : awesomeness guys i agree agree agree... I love novels be it harry or any other fantasy but harry is truely fantastic novel. I love twilight too but i guess harry is full of more surprises then it.
But nevermind i love both of them... Ha ha ha.... <3 <3...
When Harry is "dead" and it's all dramatic. And when Ron and Hermione kiss for the 1st time...

great part. luna certainly came into her own by the 7th book- my only wish was to have more of her by then! she was brilliant.

I agree; my top 3 right now would be snape's memories in the last book, when harry uses the Half Blood Prince potion book for the first time and beats Hermiones & gets the felix felicis ;) that was hilarious, and in the 3rd book sirus and remus finally reveal that sirius is innocent
oh, and one more, so technically this is top 4. the moment, 'TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE= I AM LORD VOLDEMORT"
&&& in the 2nd at the duelling club, when harry shows he's a parselmouth and everyone go's beserk and think he's a the heir of slytherin
There are just too many moments!!!!!
You are all right, it's a fool's task trying to pick one favorite moment; it's pretty much that part that begins "Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive..." and ends at "The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well."BUT! One personal favorite that hasn't been mentioned comes in Ch. 21, OTP:
"He could not think. A tingling sensation was spreading throughout him, paralyzing his arms, legs, and brain.
She was much too close. He could see every tear clinging to her eyelashes....
He returned to the common room half an hour later..."
I think I like the four ellipses, the two blank lines, and the undetailed half hour...After the long buildup, it left plenty to read between the lines. And while most of us will never get to experience quidditch firsthand or inherit a cloak of invisibility, that first kiss is something almost universal and nearly as magical, even when it is somewhat ill-fated--and Rowling captured it beautifully.
Most touching moment: when Harry uses the resurrection stone and walks through the woods with his deceased loved ones. Most awesome moment: when Neville pulls the sword out of the sorting hat and kills the snake.
Which is my favorite, though? Don't think I can choose one, unfortunately...
Chelseabelle wrote: "Favorite moments.. I can't choose just one.. I'm sorry. Here are my lists:5. The Prophecy in Ddore's Office (5th book)
4. Kreacher talking about going into the cave. (7th book)

Ah... great choice!
D. wrote: "I will also choose the moment in Book 7 when Harry was marching alone to sacrifice himself to Voldemort. When James and Lily and Sirius and Remus all appeared, my heart ached. And Harry, all of 17,...":) My heart ached too! Moment of pure heroism, true.
i loved the scene where Dumbledore said the Aurors were on the way, and Voldemort said "And you shall be dead." he is so evil.i loved the moment in the fifth film when they were going to london to find the prophecy and Ron said to Hermione, "Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?" that made me laugh like you wouldn't believe.
but the overall best moment would be harry finding Snape dying and in a way he admitted that he was in love with Harry's mother - that's why his patronus is a doe because Lily's patronus was also a doe.
There are so many. I love when Harry gives the locket to Kreature and also when Kreature leads the army of elves out of the kitchens and is wearing the locket. Also Harry kissing Ginny the first time.

I totally agree! Every single moment of all of the books!
I love every scene that you guys have mentioned but one of my favorites is in the last when Harry and Hermione dance in the tent after Ron has left them, that scene just describes the relationship Harry and Hermione has :)
Goblet of Fire remains my most favourite book, so I guess my favourite scenes were Harry's triumphs in the first two Tasks. I loved the build up towards the tasks and also how Harry finally started to become accepted as a true Triwizard Champion after he managed to dazzle everyone by pulling off Quidditch moves worthy of an international player. I loved those parts.
sarah wrote: "I love every scene that you guys have mentioned but one of my favorites is in the last when Harry and Hermione dance in the tent after Ron has left them, that scene just describes the relationship ..."Harry and Hermione don't dance in the book. :/
I really have to choose? I have 3:1. Harry and Ginny eating chocolate in the library.
2. Ginny's singing Valentine to Harry.
3. "Anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."-Ginny Weasley
Notice the pattern? I <3 Ginny!
For this moment always stands apart... His scar burned, but he was master of the pain, he felt it, yet was apart from it. He had learned control at last, learned to shut his mind to Voldemort, the very thing Dumbledore had wanted him to learn from Snape. Just as Voldemort had not been able to possess Harry while Harry was consumed with grief for Sirius, so his thoughts could not penetrate Harry now while he mourned Dobby. Grief, it seemed, drove Voldemort out . . . though Dumbledore, of course, would have said that it was love.
For some reason, I like sad, emotional parts, and that is why I favoured the part where Harry sees through Snape's eyes, of how much he loved Lily. And anyways, Lily and Snape are my favourite characters.
