I know the feeling. I felt so heartbroken for Katniss at the end. It took me awhile to recover.
In a different genre, have you read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews? That is a really fun read!
I just finished Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and loved it! I just started The Year-God's Daughter by Rebecca Lochlann.

Cool! What is it about anyway? I really didn't get what the book was about by reading the blurb...I must be slow lol!

Lol! Yeah, the blurb was a little confusing, but the story isn't too hard to understand. It's basically how this girl, Alice, meets a witch, Leona when she moves. Leona is a good witch and she tells Alice that a guy, Magog, who is good as well is stuck in the Dream Realms (place where humans dream) and hid the book of shadows (book of spells). But now, it is no longer safe and Leona says that her sister, High Priestess of Belial, or her nickname: Lillian, who is a bad witch, will take it if they don't get it before she does. Leona gives Alice a potiony thing to drink so she can control her dreams before she goes to sleep, and enter the Dream Realms. Its up to Alice to find Magog and keep the book of shadows safe before Lillian takes it. And, basically, so far, it's her journey through the Dream Realms to find Magog. I haven't read much, yet, but I hope it's less confusing!

I literally just finished
It was a very good read .. see my review here

This book is currently only available on Amazon. I got it for $.99 and found it to be a steal for that price.
I encourage anyone who likes dystopian, science fiction, fantasy, action combat, light romance, lgbt fiction, and young adult fiction to give it a read.
I am just about to start
I am super excited to start it.
Liz wrote: "I need some suggestions for a good read that is similar to Hunger Games.....not too teenie bopper with soppy, boring, predictable writing. Any ideas?"It depends on why you liked the Hunger Games, was because it was a (YA) dystopian book if so then there are several good ones out there. Like
and
But those are both 'young adult' books, and as such they have the dramatics and emotional play that that genre brings in.
I have often thought the reason why young adult dystopian (post apocalyptic) novels use the teen romance and sometimes extremely predictable format is to soften the emotional drain on the reader that the dystopian post apocalyptic written for adults have.
like
and
I like dystopian novels myself. I find a need to switch between those writes for young adults and those for adults because the first (YA) is at times too silly and the second (A) is at times too serious and draining.
I have noticed a lot of people asking for more books following the Hunger Games. It reminds me of when the Harry Potter series ended and there was a void to fill the space. Maybe some one should start a thread and call it... books to read to help you recover from the hunger after reading the Hunger Games.
Sarah Marie wrote: What did you think about The Dark Divine?"I liked it although for me it was really predictable. I did like the romance between the characters if only they would have talked sooner although as Karie pointed out in the Dark Divine Thread there wouldn't be much of a book without the tension.
@Liz: Anything YA Dystopian will most likely fit, but it depends on what your looking for because most YA Dystopian contain romance/love triangles.

REFLECTION by Jessica Roberts. It's not a dystopian like Hunger Games, but it has the same "mature young adult' feel and it reminds me a lot of those types of books.

I didn't cry until the last chapter.
I just finished the deliverer
as part of the read it and weep. It was so good that I got the second book the gatekeeper
and am 15% through it. If you like high fantasy books that sweep you into 'other' worlds of action-combat-battle scenes, magic/sorcery, and a good verse evil battle. I encourage you to give them a try.
The author Jason Morrow (a goodreads author) has lowered the price on smashwords for the Deliverer to free... I do not know how long that will last but if this genre is of interest to you, grab it.

Well, that's not all of them, but oh well:)

I am actually reading Divergant right now. Not too bad so far. I have Patrick Ness on my "to-read" shelf. I think I am just going through serious Hunger Games withdrawl. :(
