I loved The Name of the Wind and can't wait for book 3 to be released. It's taking FOREVER!

I've just finished Rock Stars Don't Like Big Knickers by Nikki Ashton (2*) and have just started Autumn by David Moody for something completely different. I like to balance out romance books for horror/thrillers and vice versa so I've gone from cheesy romance to zombies! lol

I tend to read here and there for about an hour at a time, so i havent made much of a dint in the book so far, I'm only 190 pages in (there's possible intimidation with how big its is - ebook are good for this, you never really know until your like sheesh this never ends! lol thats how i got through outlander without to much of a hassle :P )
The main character is still talking about the time spent in Tarbean, which while horrid is quite interesting. Its the right amount of disturbing without being to sickening.
hopefully the whole book will stay at least this good, then i'll def be checking out the others! hopefully I'll time it perfectly for book 3 :P

ohh zombie books <3 nothing better than a good zombie book!!

message 6986: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 22 comments It took me a while to get into the first one but it does pick up. The 3rd book is taking forever and it's so frustrating. My brother and I are impatiently waiting. It's already been a couple years!

There's something about zombies that are so unnerving to me. I think it's the mindlessness of them. The book I'm reading right now is interesting because the zombies have re-animated but they're showing no interest in the humans...yet. I get the feeling that things will turn though! Lol

No I haven't read the Wheel of Time series but I'll have a look.

Patrick Rothfuss needs to hurry the hell up. I think my brother has my copies of the books so will have to make sure I reread them when there's any sign of Doors of Stone being released!

I just finished Autumn that I'd borrowed from my local library and it wasn't bad actually. It's set in the UK, rather than the US which you may or may not like. It was an interesting perspective - rather than it being instant carnage, the survivors are lulled into a false sense of security as the newly re-animated corpses are completely harmless at first but then start 'evolving'. Check it out if you like zombie books :)

I haven't read the Wheel of Tie series either, but quite a few of my friends who like Patrick Rothfuss highly recommend it. Though i believe its also a rather chunky series, and im pretty sure there was an issue with the last book, but i believe thats currently being sorted out.

I'm so behind on some of fave series, i really need to re-read the books i have already read but catching up on the others. some series i'm like 3, 4 books behind :/ though i guess at least it means i get to binge read them for a while ^_^ rather than having to wait a yr between books.

I prefer my books to be set in all kinds of cultural settings (who wants to always read the same thing) the only problem i sometimes have with that is understanding the slang and/or accent, lol. but then i from australia and sometimes i find australian books to understand for the same reason!! lol.
