Questions for Chapters 5 - 97. After reading about how Kaderin figured she'd go back and find Sebastian when she was ready, did you think to yourself "you may not be able to if Nikolai finds Sebastian first and they put it all together"? lol, no I thought “not if he finds you first!”
8. Why do you think Regin is dodging Kaderin's questions when they spoke? Do you think Kaderin's feelings were hurt by not being invited to Emma's wedding? Yes I think she was hurt, but she manages to keep control over her emotions. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel, just that she can ignore her feelings. If I remember correctly from the last book, Emmaline recovered a lot quicker because she was drinking from Lachlain. I wonder if Regin didn’t want to let Kaderin know that because of her aversion to vampires, so she was avoiding the questions. Maybe Regin doesn’t want Kaderin to turn on Emma or kill her from drinking blood from a source.
9. Were you surprised to see Bowen? What do you think the prize is for winning the Hie? And why don't the Lycae like witches? I wasn’t expecting Bowen, but I’m keen to know more about him. I think the Hie will have something to do with Bowen’s lost mate. Not sure about the witches.
10. Did it surprise you that Sebastian could trace directly to Kaderin's location without having been there before? On one hand I saw it coming, on the other, I’m very surprised he seems so strong to be able to do it.
11. Are you enjoying the humor in this, so far? - the trolls giving a play-by-play of Sebastian and Kaderin and Kaderin thinking the nymphs were hookers? Loving it :-) I was expecting the humour from the other Valkyrie but that scene at the temple makes me curious about the other Lore creatures.

13. Why was Kaderin shocked that Sebastian traced with her? I don’t know, maybe they only every trace alone.

I don’t know; I can’t remember what’s up with Regin. I think Kaderin the Coldhearted is beginning to feel more and more since her encounter with Sebastian; so, yes, she felt – not so much slighted – as a bit wounded.
9. Were you surprised to see Bowen? What do you think the prize is for winning the Hie? And why don't the Lycae like witches?
Hmmm. Well, I read this for the first time quite a while ago and I can’t remember if I was surprised then or not.
10. Did it surprise you that Sebastian could trace directly to Kaderin's location without having been there before?
Yes, I was trying to figure that out. Is it b/c she is his bride and therefore “home” to him?

LOL! Definitely. Love the humor in these books. I don’t know why it works for me when other authors’ humor doesn’t. And, come on! Those nymphs were dressed liked skanks!

I’d forgotten that part. A bit of a surprise, as Bowen was always so nice to Emma. Still, they are at war.
13. Why was Kaderin shocked that Sebastian traced with her?
I’m trying to remember. I think only really old/powerful vamps can trace where they have never been. I believe, like the book says, that it isn’t the norm for vamps to do that. Or maybe it is just more proof she is his bride.

I like a hero in pursuit, but I especially like one without a roving eye. But is this realistic, considering Riora is a Goddess? Comments?

Probably a bit of both. It is part of the reason I'm re-reading the series... I can't remember everything. The times in the stories overlap some.

Her feelings are definitely hurt -- the way she denies it makes it very clear. :-)
It sounds like Regin doesn't want K. to know about Myst and Nikolai. Trying to avoid confrontations/issues? They've accepted him at this point, pretty much.

I wasn't, because I've already read his book, lucky me! (One of my favs.)
Have no idea why they don't like witches... the witches seem modern and the Lycae old-fashioned in their ways, but then that's pretty much true of female species and male species in this world in general.

Not really, it seemed necessary for the book to proceed. :-)

I'm always amused when two heroes fight at seeing how the author manages to even it up. Can't have one of them looking like a wuss! Usually the hero of the current book will win, just. I thought it funny that Kaderin was bummed he wouldn't scar. Crazy Valkyries. :-)

I think she was mostly just woozy from it being her first time, and unexpected.

Didn't he say he thought she was pretty, but nothing compared to Kaderin. And we also find out that Kaderin's parents are both Gods, so wouldn't she be as pretty as Riora?
15. What do you think of the Hie rules? No outright killing until the final round ? Whoa. Interesting rules. Kaderin hasn't killed her opponent in the final round before since her main competitor has been against for several Hies. I was shocked at that though.

After finding out what the prize was, I understood why Bowen wants to win it...to bring back his mate. I was surprised that Sebastian wouldn't want to go back and change his family's past. he wouldn't be able to let himself die though, then he wouldn't have met Kaderin.

Gods and goddesses are often whimsical in mythology. Riora seems to be of a particularly whimsical bent. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she has some kind of agenda, though.

Really brief meeting! Seems like Regin and Kaderin are both keeping secrets from each other. I think it is b/c he is a vamp. She’s been killing them for years (to avenge her sisters and atone for her leniency.)

I was surprised Myst was getting in the middle of the two of them, though I know she is protective. I was wondering how long it would take b/f Sebastian realized Myst was related to Katja and start pumping her for info. I think he and his brother still have a lot of unresolved issues, even with Sebastian’s decision to thank Nikolai for his fated bride at the end of Chapter 19.

And isn't that what these vamps do when they drink from someone, night after night dreaming their memories? This defitintely helps the "binding" process for Sebastian and Kaderin, yet it's not actually part of the blooding... in which no actual blood is involved. Does that seem strange to anyone else?
28. Tricky, tricky Bowen to bring out the diamond necklace at the perfect moment. He's really getting quite ruthless. And yet all this does is make me want to read his story more. What about you? Are his actions turning you off?
29. Why doesn't Sebastian even consider joining the Forebears?
30. Will knowing that Myst cleared the way by marrying a vampire soften Kaderin's objections a little? What did you think of the hot and heavy when the dragons were approaching? It looks like Sebastian's learning, I liked the bargains, first for the kiss and then for " a night of touching" :-D

In Kresley Cole’s Immortal After Dark world there are relatively new, and unknown “good” vamps (The Forebearers – who don’t drink directly from the flesh) and bad vamps (The Horde). The Horde have a “cold nature, worship logic, and absence of mercy.” So, the vampires that are part of the Horde would be immune (to some extent) to anyone’s memories. Questions for Chapters 20- 2927. Is there a better way to get to know someone than to walk a mile in their shoes? And isn't that what these vamps do when they drink from someone, night after night dreaming their memories? This defitintely helps the "binding" process for Sebastian and Kaderin, yet it's not actually part of the blooding... in which no actual blood is involved. Does that seem strange to anyone else? It does seem kind of strange that "blooding" has absolutely no blood exchange at all. But you're so right about learning about someone by dreaming their memories.
28. Tricky, tricky Bowen to bring out the diamond necklace at the perfect moment. He's really getting quite ruthless. And yet all this does is make me want to read his story more. What about you? Are his actions turning you off? I thought that was very resourceful of Bowen LOL His actions are not turning me off at all. He's determined to win so he can get his mate back. Wouldn't you resort to anything if you were in his place?
29. Why doesn't Sebastian even consider joining the Forebears? I don't think him not joining the Forebearers is solely because Kristoff is Russian. I think he didn't join because he was against becoming a vampire in the first place and he is anti-vampire, good or bad.
30. Will knowing that Myst cleared the way by marrying a vampire soften Kaderin's objections a little? What did you think of the hot and heavy when the dragons were approaching? It looks like Sebastian's learning, I liked the bargains, first for the kiss and then for " a night of touching" :-D I do like that Sebastian is learning to make good bargains. And I like that Kaderin is powerless to say no LOL Yes, it was getting hot when the dragons were approaching...I was kinda mad at them for ruining the moment ;)
31. Bowen has now been cursed at a time he needs his regenerative powers the most. And he kept staring at the witch Mariketa in Riora's temple. What is the deal with him and the witch? What will he do if he doesn't wint the grand prize and go back in time to stop his mate from dying? I have no clue what the deal with Bowen and the witch is. I imagine Bowen may try to kill himself if he doesn't win. He's not happy, and loosing will make him less happy.
32.OMG!! What did you think of Nix's prediction? Do you think there's any way for her to avoid her fate? Do you think Sebastian will be able to save her? I was shocked by Nix's prediction! Yes, I figured Sebastian could save her. And since I'm finished reading, I know what happens...*evil laugh*
33. As for Chapter 24, *fanning myself* all I can say is “FINALLY!” that was H.O.T.
34. What is Sebastian's hang-up with his size about? I'm not sure what chapter it is, but we find out what the deal is and let me just say it broke my heart for him. I think he's still living in the past with the ridicule of being big and is just worried about hurting her.
35. I enjoyed reading their discussion over the possibilites of time travel. It shows they have more in common than fate and chemistry. Sebastian's reaction to her theories (and to the fact that she's informed) was classic. Comments? I absolutely LOVED that they had this conversation and that Kaderin was so knowledgeable. It showed Sebastian that she's more than just good looks and toughness.
36. We still don't really know why Sebastian is able to trace to a person when no other Vampire can. Now that we're further along in the story, what are your theories? I don't know why he can do it either. Maybe all vamps can do it and no one has ever tried before.
37. Sebastian was NOT happy with Kaderin at the club in Colombia. Just when you think there's hope for them, this happens! They both reacted badly, but can you really blame Sebastian for issuing the ultimatum? Were you surprised with Gamboa's reaction to having Kaderin in the limo? Kaderin made me furious at this point! I can not blame Sebastian for issuing the ultimatum...it was a long time coming. I was really shocked at Gamboa's reaction in the limo. That seemed almost too easy.
