Then I guess that it's appropriate that I am sipping a tot of grog (one-third Lambs Navy Rum and two-thirds water) while reading David Barrie's "Sextant".

I think this is a good idea. Plus - it's the season to be thinking of others.

Stephen | 1 comments Hi fellow humor writers/enjoyers. I wanted to plug my current literary/humor/audiobook project - I take classic films that WEREN'T based on books, and have different humor writers novelize each scene, adding jokes and taking lots of creative liberties, then get actors and comedians to narrate. I'd be honored if you'd check it out - The Novelizers with Andy Richter at podfollow.com/novelizers. Hope you enjoy!

Through Facebook I've made the acquaintance of Jerry Zezima, a syndicated humor columnist (he was nice enough to contribute a cover blurb for my upcoming book). And it made me wonder why there are so few humor columnists anymore, at least in newspapers (print or online). We could use another Erma Bombeck right now.

I never used to be clumsy. Now when I am holding something, as likely as not it will end up on the floor.
Damn Isaac Newton for inventing it.

A friend of mine in junior high school (no idea what that translates to British education system-wise) used to say there is no gravity. The Earth just sucks.
Nice to see you back, Martin!

I love the concept of untold trillions of tiny earth-mouths busily sucking away, on their non-biodegradable plastic straws. No wonder that the weather is so awful.

Martin (oldfossil) | 378 comments Blind people deservedly get everyone's sympathy. Deaf people, on the other hand, are just an effing nuisance.

I know this; my deafness gets steadily worse. In spite of good hearing aids, bought for me by the British tax-payer and issued free by our National Health Service.

Eh? What did you say?
