Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) Why did ya like Gale better than Peeta?

Rebecca Boschee nothing new, but I would liked to have seen Prim survive and I'm sorry, as much as I liked Peeta, and as much as I think I understand why the author chose Peeta for Katniss, I would have liked to have seen it work out with Gale.

Ellen I wanted Katniss to end up with Gale, Peeta is charming and endearing but i'm sure he could have found another nice girl to be with. I was devastated when Rue died, I think there is a lot of heartbreak but perhaps that's what makes it such a compelling storyline.

Harleen Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) wrote: "Why did ya like Gale better than Peeta?"

Gale is just more like Katniss and Peeta has this whole other personality that i didnt think really went with katniss' i just think gale and katniss would have been a better couple not exactly that he was better than peeta.......i hope that made sense

Gabrielle I wouuld keep Finnick alive and let Gale and Katniss continue to be friends in the end, instead of Gale moving away.I would include more about Johanna Mason, get to know her better. And also,President Snow deserved a fate much worse than the one he got. After he did all he did, ruined so many peoples lives, and he CHOKES?Katniss derserves her revenge.

Mariah Oh dear I would change a lot in mockinjay. The story didn't seem complete and I don't like how ultimately she was broken and Peeta was broken too. You root for characters and you at least want them to succeed.

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, if I could, I would add some more Dragons, Elves, and Pokemon to the story...

message 58: by Cody (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cody Kes PRIM WOULD BE ALIVE!!!!! Or if not Katniss would have named one of her kids Prim. Oh and I would've made no doubt about Katniss' love for Peeta. It would've been way more emphasized.

Harleen Mariah wrote: "Oh dear I would change a lot in mockinjay. The story didn't seem complete and I don't like how ultimately she was broken and Peeta was broken too. You root for characters and you at least want them..."

IKR!!!!!! actually i thought gale was broken too cause he left to district 2 after breaking the girl he loved's heart so like 3 of the main characters were broken......

Elena I wouldn't let Finnick die.

I know! It just felt...unfinished somehow, and I didn't like how practically no one stayed together or-as far as we know-contact, in the end.

Harleen ya ikr!!!!! except for peeta and katniss

Makayla Harleen wrote: "ya ikr!!!!! except for peeta and katniss"

Ya, haha. I meant to add in besides them, but I guess I didn't :)

I agree! You summed it up beautifully!

Catherine I think Prim should have lived. That part made me super sad. Also I wish Gale and Katniss had remained friends and that neither had gotten so bitter.

message 66: by Al (new) - rated it 4 stars

Al Cui I would like some more hope at the end. After three volumes of tension, hopelessness, and heartbreaking deaths, I want to know that it was meaningful in some way, and the ending just didn't do it for me. I wouldn't change any of the deaths even though they make me depressed. I wouldn't change how Katniss chose Peeta over Gale; I love them both dearly. However, I do want to have a sense that all the suffering these characters went through was worth something. True, they won they war, and they are, hopefully, building a better world. But the sadness and resignation on a personal level have not lifted by the end of the book. I find that deeply upsetting.

Venice Ohleyer PRIM WOULDN'T DIE! I loved the whole series, but Prim dying in the end was just really too much. I mean, the whole reason Katniss participated in the hunger games was for Prim!

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) Al wrote: "I would like some more hope at the end. After three volumes of tension, hopelessness, and heartbreaking deaths, I want to know that it was meaningful in some way, and the ending just didn't do it f..."
I don't know. I found hope at the end. I knew they could somehow be happy again and that they were rebuilding. The ending made me happy.

Bianca Katniss giving in and having kids in the end. It just didn't fit at all.

Nayha the death of finnick and cinna was upsetting and i too wanted katniss to end up with gale

esthermarie I don't think I would change anything, because while I wished Finnick, Cinna and Prim would've lived, war doesn't discriminate and it wipes out anyone who gets in its way. War also changes people (ie. Gale) and sometimes you can never go back from it. Collins made it completely realistic, and I think she made an effort to make it the happiest ending possible while keeping it as real as what a brutal war would result in. I loved it.

Evaine I would sit Suzanne Collins down and make her actually write the third book instead of rushing to get it over with. I have never been more disappointed in the wrap-up of a series. And The Hunger Games was SO amazing. Sadly, I think Ms Collins ran out of steam/ideas/energy/ etc... Honestly? It didn't even seem as if the same person wrote both books.

I don't need a happily ever after ending, but I do need an ending that doesn't feel like it was pulled out of someone's butt at the last minute.

Jessie I would save poor Finn. Hadn't he been through enough?

April Parrish Valerie wrote: "I wouldn't change anything, except maybe the fact Katniss wanted another Hunger Games. :v That seemed out of character for her, and it's the only flaw in the trilogy.

She didn't really want another Hunger Games, that was just a trick to get close to the President because she authorized the bombing and that caused Prim's death.

Megan I wish that Cinna didn't die- he was my favorite, and it ripped my heart out when he died :(

message 76: by Maja (new) - rated it 4 stars

Maja I would keep Prim alive. That just broke my heart because I have a younger sister and would do anything for her. And if I had to see her die, I think everything else would just change forever...

Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) It was nessesary. It showed that you can do everything in your power to try to keep someone protected, but, at the end of the day, they die. War doesn't show mercy. Or,well I thought it was nessesary. I would only change Finnick and Cinna's death.

Drew Hosick I know it's too bad they killed off Prim and Finnick but the one thing I would change is how Katniss is remembered as the girl that lost it when she shot Coin instead of the hero that she was. She saved Panem AGAIN by doing that. We all know how twisted it would have been if Coin had taken over. Instead people think she lost it except for her closest friends which had probably figured it all out.

On the other hand, maybe it was a good thing so that she didn't have to be in the spotlight for the rest of her life.

As for Peeta and Gale, I'm happy she ended up with Peeta. He was the only one that she could really relate too.

Makayla Lea (Peeta's #1 Fangirl!) wrote: "It was nessesary. It showed that you can do everything in your power to try to keep someone protected, but, at the end of the day, they die. War doesn't show mercy. Or,well I thought it was nessesa..."

I agree with you. I was really sad when Prim died, but there was a point to it. I tried to come up with a reasonable explanation for Finnick's death, and there isn't really one that adds to the story, besides from the whole "Your going to loose people you love" moral,, but I thought that was already covered with Boggs' death...

Harleen Bianca wrote: "Katniss giving in and having kids in the end. It just didn't fit at all."

IKR!!!!! i thought she said she would never want to have kids! ya i no it was because of the games and then they ended but it still didnt fit in!!!

Coletta Fuller Valerie wrote: "I wouldn't change anything, except maybe the fact Katniss wanted another Hunger Games. :v That seemed out of character for her, and it's the only flaw in the trilogy.

You're right.

Fran prim, finnick <3!!!, and cinna don't die and the ending more descriptive bigger ending with gale!!

Kirby Harleen wrote: "Bianca wrote: "Katniss giving in and having kids in the end. It just didn't fit at all."

I expected her to eventually have kids b/c it wasn't that she ever said she didn't WANT kids, she just repeatedly said that she wouldn't be ABLE to b/c of the hunger games. so it was almost foreshadowed by her spending so much time thinking about it.

Harleen ya i guess that makes sense i mean it still felt out of place though

message 85: by Shae (new) - rated it 4 stars

Shae I really shouldn't get involved in this again, so all I'm gonna say is... NOT REAL.
Glad I got that off my chest. (The epilogue bothered me more than I can express.)

message 86: by Nels (new) - rated it 1 star

Nels Paulson All the problems I had were with the final book and it began at the beginning. Katnis began the series as someone who would fight and claw to save/ rescue/ protect those she cares about, yet she does none. So either keep Katnis core the same as the previous books, or, Change the point of view to someone doing something so we don't have to read about crying in a closet for half the book. The same story told from Gale or Peeta's perspective would have been a much better story.

Harleen i dont no i would have been mad if it wasnt in katniss's point of view but that doesnt mean i liked mockingjay

Nya Tomlinson-Horan-Malik-Payne-Styles FINNICK WOULD NOT DIE! HE DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE! SOOOO NOT FAIR!

sorry for yelling.

I would not keep a word of that whole mess! All these things Diane mentioned and many more are so bothersome about this book.

I am now recommending to anyone who's interested in reading the series, to just stick with the first book. It's pretty much the best bit of the story.

You could read the second one, but then it gets harder to stop before the train-wreck at no. 3. Plus you get introduced to many more characters and once you know them, you want to know what happens to them next. And Collins just didn't write a meaningful story for any of them in the third book. She didn't even send them off properly.

So, if you still have a choice, just don't start reading #3. It's pointlessly depressing, meaningless, garnished with defeat, abandon and manipulation.

message 90: by Karenina (new) - added it

Karenina Katniss and her selfish, bratty, mopey, rude, inconsiderate, pissed of 24/7 attitude.

She was alright in the Hunger Games and Catching Fire but in Mockingjay, I couldn't stand her. AT ALL. I mean, yes, she was left out of some of the rebels' plans (ie. plan to break out of the arena) and that's upsetting for her but seriously, so was Peeta and besides, there was not need for her to treat others around her so so so poorly. Every little thing upsets her. Everytime she is upset (which is all the time in Mockingjay) those around her suffer for it. She was juts very very very rude and selfish in Mockingjay. I don't understand why.

message 91: by Karenina (new) - added it

Karenina Oh and if I were able to go back in time, I would have asked Collins to add more emotion to the book. I don't just mean on the sad parts, but every emotion presented in the book. It was just too drab and one dimensional for me.

message 92: by 4 Shaunie (new) - added it

4 Shaunie #1 no death for finnick or cinna i wish Katniss had chosen Gale

message 100: by Zoe (new) - rated it 5 stars

Zoe 1) Finnick and Cinna not to die - or not to have such horrible deaths
2) For Gale and Katniss to have a proper goodbye
3) I hated that Katniss abruptly went into seclusion after executing Coin - I had to read a few times to understand why she chose to shoot Coin instead of Snow - and then President Snow died because he was trampled...what?
