“Going Home to Glory” by David Eisenhower covers Dwight D. Eisenhower's life from the time of Kennedy's inauguration and Eisenhower's return to private life and his death in 1969. This book was an insightful and informative biography about Eisenhower’s last years as seen through the eyes of his grandson David. David writes about his memories of his grandfather that only he and his grandfather shared. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because I think that any history fan would find this book delightful and an easy flowing read about the last years of Eisenhower’s life. Overall, I thought this was a great biography about Dwight Eisenhower’s final years.

I truly enjoyed this book, its reflective look back at key points during the Ike Administration and the years of a young man with his "Grand Dad". I read it three times and then bought the audible version to have it read to me as well. I simply wanted the intonation that I believed I was reading in the book format. None of it was disappointing. I have recommended this book to many people so that they can ponder the effects of a decent and good moderate Republican President. It was a day and age when being a Republican was not a dirty word and lines in the sand weren't being drawn upon.
