i think this is and awesome book and i read it the first in grade 5 too.

Really thats cool awsome we both read this in 5th grade-This boook is so interseting and kind of sad bc of the chatacters weight.
I liked this book too. I thought I had heard somewhere that the author was a 5th grade teacher and had written this book with the help from her class.
Oh this was definitely a classic back in the day.
