How grim is Grimms?

Cathy | 2 comments I read this book as a young child - my mother's copy. i was as much scared as I was enchanted. I particularly remember the girl who had to remain mute and knit stinging nettles to release her brothers who had been turned into birds.

I think they were a great tonic for creative imaginings!

Rachel | 19 comments I loved that story. Maybe it was because I thought it would be cool to have seven older brothers. :) Or maybe it was the fascination with silent heroines.

sorry, it is Grimms' fairy talesThe Complete Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, Deluxe Edition Although the edition I read hasn't got a cover any more - it was my mother's copy.It is available online and is a collection of short stories including Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and Rumpelstiltskin.
