Marc | 3 comments Ok so I was on this add-cover rampage.
You find a book, see that is has no cover, so you get one. But when you click 'edit' to upload one, the cover image is suddenly there!

I'm fine with the fact that GR auto-grabs images from the web, just perhaps DON'T do it whenever I (or any other librarian) visited that book's page in the last 10 minutes or so?

//my post turned out to be a bit of a rant, sorry for that.
But hopefully you get the point: it's annoying.
It's also somewhat a GR Feedback thing, since it'll require some change of the site, but I thought I'd post it here first, since it was about book covers.

There are issues sometimes with images displaying its always worth hitting edit and checking prior to spending time looking for an image

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments I don't think there's any way to change it. With some books (although most now seem to resize the large image on the page instead of creating different sizes - not sure why), there are three different covers saved a small (other editions), medium (book page) and large (when you click to view the cover) copy.

Sometimes one of these three files gets corrupted and it won't show up. There is still an image associated with the book and the cover may show up in some places but not others.

There's nothing the can change to fix it, I don't think, as it's an accident when it happens.

I normally hit "edit" first to double check and if there is an image already there I use http://www.tineye.com/ to search for matching images that are bigger in size, otherwise I go hunting for the cover.
