Queen Tiyi | 5 comments i'm trying to find a book, historical romance with a heroine with violet eyes, and a hero who was almost castrated before he escaped from a plantation in the west indies i think... her stepfather pretended to be a lord, but the rightful lord was the hero's father. he returns for revenge and finds this violet eyed woman, and despite all his plans for vengeance, he falls in love with her, can't remember everything else, but i really want to find this book, it's set in england, i thought it was really good, need help finding it, thanks...

Courtney | 80 comments Something my Judith McNaught? The only historical romance I've read by her is A Kingdom of Dreams.

Charlene I want to read this book! Sounds fabulous. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread; I'm sure someone will be able to name it for you.

Queen Tiyi | 5 comments there was a villain in the book who looked a lot like the hero's father, he killed this man and took his place as the earl/lord, then he tried to have the hero killed by castrating him, but it didn't work, the hero and his friend escaped a plantation in the west indies where they were being held and returned to England to seek vengeance against this villain, the heroine as i said before is the villain's stepdaughter, the hero thinks she was involved and also wants revenge on her, but when he sees her, it becomes a battle for him as she is not what he expected, she is living in genteel poverty, her clothes are threadbare, she has a wolf/dog for her friend and she is hauntingly beautiful, so everyday is a fight to keep his anger fresh against this girl...i must find this book, it was so wonderful, i will tell you that i bought it in Ghana, west africa almost 10 years ago, i'm sure it came out of the UK and i've never seen it since, don't remember the author's name or one word of the title, it's very frustrating for me....i remain in hope that i will find it...on another note, A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith Mcnaught is follwed by Whitney, my Love and Only You...they were pretty good reading, i have about 12 of Judith Mcnaught's books...some of them are really good....but i hope i find mine!!!Help!!!

Courtney | 80 comments I feel like I know this book...but that's probably because a lot of historical romances have similar plotlines.

This is a longshot, but is it The Black Knight by Connie Mason ?
