When their mother was about to raise both Leo and Ann as 'the kids of the dark', their uncle (who wasn't a dark mage like his sister) persuaded her not to do that. Well, Mrs. Schmidt agreed--but only for one child. Then she gave Leo to her brother to be raised as a light mage, and Ann was raised as a dark mage by herself.
Other: Ann is harsh, snob, and not afraid to say something mean to people. But inside, she acts like that because her mother constantly does mean things to her.
