Help with quote

I am trying to remember a quote in this book and was wondering if anyone could help me with it. It takes place where the story's heroine has finished taking her first bath in years (no thanks to the evil uncle who kept her locked up) and her benefactor who is talking about how women would end human existence if they refused to allow child birth to continue.
My library never has this book and I borrowed it from a friend a while ago.
