What do you think happened to him at the end of Unearthly? Why where his wings darker??

Jeffrey was Clara's brother right? It has been awhile since I read this but I know her brother's wings were dark but it was because he had been out flying in the smoke and fire trying to find Clara. He knew she was in trouble and he flew out to help her find Christian because her mom was freaking out that she didn't meet up with Christian like she was supposed to.

I think his purpose was to set the second fire and have Tucker killed. But Clara saved him and perhaps Jeffrey did not have the courage to intervene, thus getting black wings. I am probably wrong. I have just read the book and it was the first thing that came to my mind when she sees him coming. Also, I think Clara and Christian did not get black wings right away because there is still "hope" for their purpose. Not sure if any of this holds water, but it was my first thought.
Is Jeffrey the Black Wing ! Whoa, He would be the Cliffhanger :D

I'm sorry to say girls but I think Jeffrey might be a bad boy in this series. I also don't think Angela a good girl either. They both seem to walk a fine line between good and bad.
:(I'm okay with Angela, but Jeffrey?! He doesn't deserve it and he's gonna be like "I'm sorry, but this is what I have to do." and then I'll be like "NO!" but of course that doesn't make a difference
Clara was always going to save/meet Christian Jeffrey new about that. I think Jeffrey started the other fire. Jeffrey would have known that Clara would have saved Tucker therefore he was hoping Clara would not be on time to meet Christian.
Wait. Why did Jeffery start the other fire? Or why would he? I'm confused.
He is Jealous of his sister. Their mothers focus is on Clara and her visions. They had to move. He shows off at school knowing that he should not I think he wants attention
I understand that, I supposed..but I still feel really bad for him!! It sounds really feasible now....Then Jeffrey will just become an enemy and no longer be a part of the book :(
I feel bad for him too. But it dosen't necessarly mean he will not be part of the book he is family so he will always be there. And this may give Clara a new purpose, but with Christian and Tucker helping her along the way.
Is she supposed to take part in this war?? Is there gonna be a war? I think so..Maybe that's her purpose. I don't think it was to hook up with Christian :(
I really don't think she was ever supposed to be romanticly involved with Christian that's what we are all use to. Maybe they are supposed to be like partners to help people. That might be why the author put Tucker into the story put out our thoughs of a romance between the two.
True..but she has this "connection" with Christian that she just can't shake off..I hope that doesn't get in the way :(
Every body has a connection with each other that's why we form friendship/relationships you can have a connection with the opposite sex and it not be romantic.

I think Jeffrey's the son of a dark angel and Clara's mom and that's why he has darker wings. I think Clara's mom was seduced/raped which resulted in Jeffrey.

I also think that Jeffrey started the other fire. Like Clara's mom, Jeffrey also wanted Clara to save Christian. I think Jeffrey just wanted Tucker out of the picture so Clara wouldn't have any distractions
But Jeffrey is more focused on Jeffrey! I think he is too selfish to worry about what his sister is doing plus when the tried to carry the duffel bag together and she asked for his help he told her it was not all about her so I think there is something more sinister in hand for Jeffrey because he doesn't care about the rules.
I mean, if you read the prolouge for Hallowed that was at the back of Unearthly, I think it's kinda obvious that he was some how put up to being some sort of a Black wing, and sent to get Clara.
You guys have amazing predictions that I never considered until I read it, but I honestly don't think he's jealous. I can't Imagine him having her trapped or something and admitting that he was jealous the whole time ( you know, like in movies when villians start to rant?), it just doesn't make sense. He was probably put up to anything bad he did.I thing if Cymthia Hand has to pick between killing Jeffrey off against giving him a redemption scene I think she may pick the latter.
all i think is that he's gonna turn to a black wing and about hallowed maybe just maybe he'll kill tucker considering he is the one who actually dies

Jefferys purpose was to set the forest on fire and save Tucker thats why his wings went darker because of the Ash from the fire .. I thought he was a dark wing too lol
