Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments I have a request for the readers here, if no one minds?

I was wondering if anyone might be able to recommend any books with a hero who resembles Adrien Brody? He's my favourite actor and I adore him but, because he has green eyes, dark hair, and a lean physique...well, you can imagine how hard it is to find a hero who looks like that *sigh* very frustrating :(

Any recommendations would be most gratefully accepted.

(I have uploaded pictures of Adrien into my photos section if you're not sure what he looks like?)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Hi Louise! This is a very interesting request. unfortunately I pale in comparison to how many books others have read. I can't think of any characters off the top of my head. Will have to keep searching. Hopefully others will see your post soon and have some suggestions. Good luck!

Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments Ooh, you have Henry as your avatar, very nice :D

And thank you! :)

Hi, I was wondering, how do you get your "favourites" list to show up on your profile? Mine just has a list of my shelves :O

message 6: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments I'm so glad you recognize Henry. If I recall correctly, you can just go to your read books and add them as a favorite then they show up on that shelf. I didn't do anything complicated. I'm "features' challenged haha.

My best friend is a huuuuge fan of Henry, she got me liking him too :D

Thanks for the help, I'll see if it works :)

*headdesk* I have no idea how it worked for you, I must be technologically challenged about this one :(
I have no "favourites" option, only the shelf I added myself.

Hey, sweets! So glad you're here! What you do to get a favorites self like that is:

Go to my books at the top
Add shelf (over to the left side you'll see the function to do that).
Make a favorites shelf.
Go to "Edit bookshelf"
You'll see a column where you can choose a shelf to be a "feature."
Put a mark in the bubble.
Now all books you add to that favorite shelf should show up like Ladyhawk's!

Forgot to say the edit bookself function is also in that left hand column, very first thing. You'll see bookshelf (edit). Click on the edit. :)
If you have any trouble, let me know!

Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments Eeeeeeeeeeeeee *pounces* you are awesome!!! That worked perfectly :D
Thank you *giant un-tech!savvy hugs* now I have a favourites shelf *yay*

p.s. have you seen Ladyhawk's lovely avatar picture of Henry? ;)

message 11: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (kelsrealm) Woohoo!! Glad it worked! My directions were sort of a hot mess. ROFL

Ahhh yes I did see her avatar of Henry! *swoons* That man is too fine for words, especially in The Tudors. But you know all about that obsession of mine. ;-). LOL

message 12: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) LOL, so glad you got help for your favorites -- but still no help for you request. :) I love that feautre -- to see the favorites (or whatever shelf you want to designate) as the ribbon on the home page. I don't know of any books that meet your request, but I had fun looking at your pictures!

message 13: by Louise (new)

Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments Yeah, I never would have been able to find that myself, very glad there are people who can help brainless wonders like me with stuff like that *LOL*

Disappointed that I haven't been able to find any books with an Adrien hero tho *sigh* it seems to be a rare look :(

message 14: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments So Kelly youre the huge Henry fan?! They didn't show him near enough in the Tudors. Really looking forward to The Immortals is November! Superman, mmm not so much.
Louise, I honesty don't remember doin' all that when I made my favorites shelf. Lol! Sorry! My shelves are a mess actually.

Yes I've loved Henry for years!! Actually since the first season of The Tudors. He is so amazingly good looking. *sigh* Not thrilled about Superman myself. :-/ Immortals looks excellent! He was also excellent in Blood Creek, but you have to like horror to see that one. LOL

I totally agree about lack of screen time in The Tudors, especially that last season. :( I really wish too they would of made Charles Brandon and Mary Margaret's love story more true to life than the mess they showed in the series (including changing her name). It was an epic love story in real life!

message 16: by Louise (new)

Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments I wholeheartedly agree with Kelly on Blood Creek and The Immortals! :D

Blood Creek was excellent, and Henry was very tasty in it :P

The previews for The Immortals look awesome!

message 17: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments I have not heard of Blood Creek. I'll look for it! I am a Tudor era fan but have not yet read much regarding Charles and Margarets love story! thanks for the mention. Another story I will have to go in search of. If you know of a book please tell me!
I saw another trailer for The Immortals this morning that I had not yet seen. Looks even more intense! EEK!

You know Louise a night or two after I read your initial post and thought really hard about any Adrian Brody type characters, I dreamt about him. Don't remember any specific details, but ya, I was a bit surprised! Lol

message 18: by Louise (new)

Louise (ruby-skylark) | 34 comments Oh, you're so lucky! I haven't had a dream about him yet *sigh* I'm so jealous ;)

message 19: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (saritz) | 14 comments I know I am about a year and a half late to this party but there's a book I read that fits the Adrien Brody look perfectly:

Intimate Friends

From the book:

“His dorky good looks charmed her—curly brown hair flopping pleasingly over his forehead, and wide green eyes hidden behind dark-rimmed glasses.”

message 20: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Sarah, I hope Louise sees it!

message 21: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 50 comments Hmm. I know that I have come across the dark haired, green eyed hero quite often. Of couse they are typically muslcle bound.
