Claire is trying to please both friends by spending equal time with both. When she is with one of her rival friends then she makes sure that she does not answer any calls or texts from the other friend to make it fair. If i was Claire I would probably do the same thing that she is doing but at the same time I would try and get the group back together so that it is not so hard and depressing to see all of her friends and be considered fake if she doesnt spend time with one or the other.
