I need help sorting out a series - Corrected my links

First off I'm a new librarian, so this might be me making it more confusing then it is, but here it goes.

First off this is the Dawson's creek series and I'm confused on the "first" book. This book is marked as the first book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59...

But I've read this one:

and due to that and what little I've found online I believe that it is the true first one, but due to the different authors listed I'm note sure if they are the same book. Also how do you add books to the series page so at the very least it will be closer to right. So can anyone help me sort this out?

Looks like the two books you've linked to are combined already. Only one shows up on the series list, but they are linked together through the 'combine'. They both have the same two authors listed and the same title, so they are different editions of the same book.

You can edit a series by going to the series page and clicking on the tiny greenish 'edit' link below the name of the series, but above the list of books. The series displays the most-rated edition, so if they are in the correct order, you won't necessarily be able to change the edition.

Since someone has gone to some effort to put this series together, it would be best to confirm changes through the publisher site or some other authoritative source before changing the order of the books.

Here's the publishers page for the first book

It looks to be either a German translation of the second book or a version for the English as a second language market.

It's also 64 pages long. The second book is over 100, since German is more verbose than English that would suggest that this isn't a German translation, but a simplified English translation, which would account for it being listed as for Elementary schoolers.

This would make sense since the first book is already combined with http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59... which is published by Macmillian ELT, who do english language teaching books.
And the cover says the book comes with an audio CD, which would be unusual for this sort of book, but would make sense it it's a teaching aid for non-native speakers.

And F.H. Cornish appears to be some sort of editor/translator who turns English books into simplified English, based on his/her author page http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

I think the guidelines for combining books sanction combining the first and second books as they're all just different translations the same, but maybe a more experienced librarian should weigh in on whether there's a policy for combining 'simplified english translations'.

How about making two series, one standard and one 'simplified' edition?

Well, we generally combine 'abridged versions' with the regular version, so I think the same policy would apply here and they should be combined as the same book.
