T.Ven The ending of the book was horrific. I did not think that anything like this would have happened. My heart literally sunk to my stomach and I cried for hours. Nicholas Sparks is a fabulous man. He really knows how to tug at your heart and make you fall in love. I could not put this book down even for a second. Totally recommend!

Vho Truly amazing book, but I was disappointed that Sparks wrote a sequel. The first one (True Believer) was so perfect that this one just couldn't even begin to measure up. Still a a great love story that any fan of Nicholas Sparks would like.

Michele Great book! I loved it but a friend recommended it to me....while I was pregnant with my son! After I got done crying I smacked her in the arm with it. She said "OMG I'm soooo sorry I totally forgot the ending, I read it so long ago. All I remembered is that I loved it." Thanks a lot. But it was a great book :)

Leana Love the book!! It was truly amazing, most especially the ending, I even thought at first that it was so ordinary that almost all the cliches in romantic novels already happened, but the end part made me cry.. I really love the twist!! I salute you Nicholas Sparks!

Michael This was my first book I read by Sparks, it was satisfying but not his best.

Melissa Petroski I did not like the ending of this book. I wish I had just read True Believer's and skipped this book.

I agree with u, This was the last book I ever read for him and I decided not to read his books anymore

His best books to me was The Lover The Wedding, Dear John and True Believer.

Divya The ending was immature and unbelievably cheesy - the kind we would see only in movies.

R Ending was good...liked the way the author takes your attention away to the possible dangers the baby faces, carefully making you less aware of the possibility that the mother faces the danger as well. Then all of a sudden drops a shell when the mum dies. I read this straight after I completed the prequel (True Believer). Both of'em good if you are love struck or otherwise.

Isabel I read this book a long time ago as a birthday gift I received, but that was before I realized it was a sequel, so it kind of messed up the whole thing for me... I liked the ending, though I sort of expected her to die, since even after a few Nicholas Sparks books, I already got the idea that there's almost always someone who dies. It was the perfect set up, but it still made me cry. I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks, and he is so talented enough to be able to make you fall in love with the characters. He also knows how to tug at your heart and get those tears streaming! I know that I'm in good hands when I pick up a Nicholas Sparks book.

Christina I love his book it was a really good book to read :)

Harlow His worst book ever, every time Lexie opened her mouth I wanted to punch her, seriously! And every time I turned the page I wanted him to pack his stuff and just leave for god sake uughhh yeah this book really put me off.

Tomerobber I experienced both TRUE BELIEVER and LOVE AT FIRST SITE as audiobooks. I enjoyed both of them. I don't think an author has to always tell a story with a happy ending. As a former nurse I have seen a case of a pregnant women be admitted with Pre-eclampsia whose blood pressure with so elevated that the placenta separated from the uterus and the baby died . . . and she was taken to surgery for a C- section to try to save the baby and ended up having an embolic event that caused her death as well. So the father lost not only the mother but also the child . . . all within about an hour's time. I think Nicholas Sparks tells a story very well and shows a great empathy for his characters.

Javi The ending really ruined it for me, I couldn't make any sense of it and the final part was incredibly cheese, I wished I just read true believer!!

This was my first set of Sparks books and I was livid! Hurt and shocked. I immediately visited the website to find out that Sparks says he is a "tragic writer"...it took a few years before I was able to pick up another one of his books.

Alyssa I read this book in high school and could not put it down. Between classes and at lunch , I was always trying to squeeze in a chapter. I made the mistake of finishing the book a few minutes before a class and started tearing up, it was so sad and I was in a bad mood the whole day. Even though Nicholas Sparks is a great author in that he writes characters that people love and get attached to, I stopped reading his books for a while after "At First Sight". Since then I have grown to miss his books. Now, a few years later, he has come out with several more books. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I know, I was so mad. Why make a sequel just for that to happen?

Kayla I am still not ok with the ending, but Nicholas Sparks surely did his job if we're all upset or mad with the ending. That's his job as a writer..

Ashley Justice I agree with you, Kayla. I read this book nearly 3 years ago and though I didn't like the ending, I surely remember it. I agree, his job is to ignite our emotions, make us really feel and think deeply about the story and whatever life lesson we are meant to get out of it.

Nina Perez-Reed I've read many of his books and loved both True Believer and this one. It was hard to read toward the end because as I was finishing it, I knew it would get worse. It is a great story but not one of my favorites of his because of the ending. It made me cry more than any of his books.
