I just love the thought of my shelves looking like library shelves. I really want a classic look on my shelves. Right now, i don't have the designated library room like i want, but one day i will. :D

I totally agree with 2 and 4! In my past experience I've always liked whatever I saw first (the movie or the book) and in general I don't like when people mess up my stuff. I once had a drink come uncapped in my bag and spill all over a friends book I immediately went and bought her a new one. She didn't give it to me with a stain no way I'd return it with one.

Kori (Bad_Apple) | 10 comments I like old books with notes scribbled in them, or articles folded inside. I once bought my sister a Dark Shadows book as a gift and there was this old magazine article folded inside about the series that she was excited about (I guess it had details on how the series would've ended, or something...)

So, yeah. I like old, battered books :)

I agree with you but then I get totally distracted wondering whose hands and eyes read the book before me.

NoodleSkadoodle (xxhveeovdauqfaoy) I absolutely CAN NOT have spine creases. If there is only one copy of a book by my favorite author on the shelf and has spine creases (from careless browsers) I will not buy it. I never buy used unless the person shows a pic of the spine. I never understood why people feel the need to bend the spine.

I buy mostly mass marketed because they're cheaper, but I do love the feel of a trade book. They feel so soft and pliable (at least most of them). I hate hardcovers. In my opinion, no point in having a book that big unless you're getting it for show/signed. I hate it when authors start publishing hardcovers and put out a paperback of the book about a year later.

Janet (justjanet) | 25 comments I don't read mass market paperbacks. My first preference is for a hardback, followed closely by a trade size paperback. I think this is mostly a type size issue for me. When books are series, I can't read out of order or it makes me nuts.
