Widget's tent

Kelly What a magical, wonderful book. The Ice Garden was espeically mystical.

Mika Widget's tent with the bottles. :) the Ice garden and Celia's tent tie at second.:)

Scott My favorite tent was Widget's tent too. Each bottle had a different scent.

A. K. Fotinos-Hoyer The wishing tree and ice garden were my favorites :) I also loved the bonfire :)

Delaney Bonfire is gorgeaous!

Jerilyn So hard to choose one. I could see and feel them as I read. A movie would likely disappoint those with good imaginations. The pool of tears, with it's catharsis feeling left the deepest impression with me.

Becca Wilson I loved the Bedtime stories tent, I thought that that tent was described particularly well and enjoyed the idea of it. However, all of the tents were beautifully thought of and the author must have a very active imagination.

Riley Dawson Hushak My favorite place at the circus was actually Celia's train car...I loved the image of an entire room made of books. As far as tents go, my favorite is either the Ice Garden or the paper menagerie.

Amy Tessier I liked any description of the food vending experiences... the chocolate mice, the smells of hot cocoa and caramel apples... lovely!

The cloud maze and the pool of tears!!!!

a no brainer!!!

Mandy ♥ I adored this book so choosing a favorite tent is like choosing a favorite chracter but I'd have to say the wishing tree.
it was the first that came to mind & like many others I loved how the wishes were lit of other wishes, also there were some beautiful moments that played out inside that tent how could I not choose it.
The Ice Garden & The Pool of Tears were equal at Second maybe the pool of tears more so because it was so beautiful.....lok ok I loved them all and the Bon Fire... God I loved that Bon Fire!!

I'm kinda looking foward but I'm also nervous they will dstroy one of favorite books.....
LOTR movie = Amazing
Draucula movie = Disgusting Soft core porn!

Terry Gregory My favorite was the wishing tree and the illusionist. I went to a night circus in England this month. It was Victorian and really wonderful. There was only one tent, a high wire act, a horse act, jugglers, a dancer who danced standing on his hands, and one clown who could juggle, ride horses, etc. It was charming and so much fun. There was no illusionist or magic, but it was still wonderful!

I wonder if they will live up to expectation?

Vanessa I loved the Ice Garden and would be so cool to see The Illusionist.

I too don't usually like circus's due to the clowns but this one I'd definately visit if it were real! It reminded of how I felt when I watched Cirque Du Soleil for the first time, made me feel enchanted and in another world!

Why do they do that? Hehe.

Delaney They shouldn't! Noooo.

message 71: by Rhys (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rhys I liked the illusionist's tent (Celia's one that she worked in).

I loved the way in which she pretended to be one of the audience at first as she made the chair(?) in the centre of the tent catch fire, and the way she vanished at the end of every performance.

I also liked the descriptions for the tarot tent, with the beaded curtain that moved across Bailey like water without making a sound, and later Poppet's tent as she spread stars across the table.

Absolutely love this book.

Robin I loved this book as well, pretty hard to "choose" a tent. They seemed all very awesome.

i adored the ice garden. i could picture it perfectly in my mind and the harsh yet delicate and intricate details are perfectly balanced. i also loved the wishing tree and how the fire on the candles represent the wishes never dying out. i feel i would also spend a long time in the cloud maze as well, i just have such a big love for mazes of all sorts.

Mandy ♥ Ok I forget to add to my list
* the illusionist's tent. (Celia's)
*the cloud maze...(omg how cool)
* widgets tent (love it)

I don't think you could really pick one and everyone's list would be utterly long.

Hahaha.......true, very true.

Sarah The Labyrinth or the Cloud Maze are probably the ones I'd love to see the most. I love environments that I can literally get lost in.

(Or possibly the food vendors. Between them and Chandresh's Midnight Dinners this book makes me hungry.)

Dani I liked the description of the Ice Garden the best. I think the most fun would be had in the cloud tent, though :) I also thought the use of only black and white in the circus brought a sense of elegance to the whole thing. This is one circus I would love to visit!

Me too, I would love to have it with me all the time! We need a circus such as this!

Lucky! I'd given anything to go to a circus like that or just a Victorian or black & white circus! Or anything really! Lol

Mandy ♥ I just can't imagine a movie being able to live up to this book! Or even my imagination as a matter of fact!

I totally agree. Leave it alone...it's perfect in my mind!

Delaney Why do they keep wanting to make movies from books? They should be original and make up their own ideas instead.

Exactly!!!!!

Mandy ♥ BTW found an interview on B&N where Erin morgenstern Explained her Favorite tent was The Labyrinth..

"Q: Which is your favorite tent at Le Cirque des Rêves and why?

A: My favorite is the Labyrinth, both because I think it is the tent I would most like to explore myself with its playing card-wallpapered walls and rooms full of feathers, and because of its meaning and symbolism within the story. So much of the novel is about collaboration and I think the Labyrinth epitomizes that."

I got the rest of the interview on my blog if anyone what's to check it out. =)
(& I'm not plugging by the way..lol)

Her second book should have a cameo of the characters in The Night Circus!

Ray Campbell Ya, the Ice Garden. I just imagined the light glancing through the sculptures and creating a world of sparkling crystals. The whole book shimmers with beauty, but this was particularly special.

Nikolina The Wishing Tree and the Ice Garden, but also The Pool of Tears...
