Fade or Stalker?
Does anyone know WHY Fade would distance himself from Deuce? It seems really unfair to her...

Okay, have you guys ever noticed how the guy who knows her first gets her? look at twilight, Polish, Betrothed, and so on. The guy who knows her first always wins! BTW I'm team Fade all the way.

Fade. Though he was a little cold towards the end and Stalker was kind of well....sweet. To Deuce. And i liked the explaination that he put out saying how he thought about the group as a whole and how to keep is pack together was the first thing on his mind and thats why he had to do the things he did. it was semi-understandable, with the world and society that they live in.
but i still cant help to think, if there were freaks attacking and he had a choice to escape or save Deuce, what would he choose? We already know Fade would stay. But as for Stalker....i doubt it. only the strong survive eh?

Um, Fade for sure. He just needs to speak up and spell it out for her. She doesn't seem to swift on the uptake (as far as relationships go)

I think it will be Fade in the end, but she will probably kiss Stalker some more to determine she doesn't love him. The story Fade reads about the day girl and the night boy is the foreshadowing part for me. Stalker is a day boy, but Fade and her found the book together. They have to 'break up', by the way, because there are three books and if they are together now, it is really hard to root for them for all three books. I have only seen this successfully done in Divergent. Twillight also had them break up. However, they need to be closer than they are now, or we will be tempted not to care so much. I'm really disappointed in Fade and Deuce. She is super naive, and he needs to realize this and fight for her. She needs to bend and start to get a clue, too. I think she finally did at the fire. He already told her he loved her, she was just asleep(IMO). I think he feels anyone he gets close to dies, so he's pulling away. But I'll shut up now, because I'm just rambling...
Fade distanced himself because he already has watched so many people he loved died he didn't want to watch another. He probably thinks putting space between them is good because that means he wont get his feelings hurt, well hes wrong. If he had such a connection to Pearls death after not seeing her for years, well lets just say he's completely thinking like a teenage boy.Also I think the whole point of Stalker being in the book is to show how people can and will adapt to the society that are put in. He has changed to belong in the society of Salvation. And maybe we will see some changes in Deuce herself.
I love Fade but he needs to be a man and cut the nonsense!

Fade. I'm not starting with teams, but I didn't relate to Stalker that much. Fade is obviously the better choice.
Fade, for sure. Though I really don't think we found out enough about the characters in this first book to know what will eventually happen.
I'm all for Fade. I had thought I missed something when I realized I didn't know who Deuce had chosen but from reading all these comments I guess we're supposed to wonder. I hate that and I hate these "love triangles". Why can't the guy and the girl experience life together? To me, adding a third party into the mix is unnecessary and a cop-out. It's as if the author is saying "there's not enough tension in the rest of the story so I'll add it here"

I really liked Fade together with Duece, but Fade kind of started to fall for Tegan (which I do not understand at all) so that ruins the whole Fade and Duece thing. Though I do hope they get back together and Tegan, well I don't really care, she isn't a big character I think.

He did after all tell Duece he loved her as they were on their way to their new home.
I loved Fade, i thought he was perfect, but i dont know right now i am kinda feeling like i want stalker to end up with her. they understand each other, and fade started to really get on my nerves with how he was with Tegan. so i will have to say i want things to heat up more with Stalker
it will take some serious apologies for Fade to be forgiven for how cozy he was getting with Tegan while completely ignoring Deuce.

That is a good point but I think that even giving her space while deciding he should have payed her some attention, or at least try to swing the vote between him and stalker his way.

HE WAS GOING TO RAPE DEUCE right after he killed Fade, her best friend.
Here's the deal. The love triangle would have been a lot better if Deuce hadn't screwed things up so bad with Fade. Honestly, she almost always offered no comfort and then wondered why he was upset after his best friends died. Her logic was that you can't save the dead so move on, which I think was extremely cold and shallow. She complained so much about Fade shutting down and going off with Tegan but she DIDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.Also, Stalker and Tegan both kind of ruined, as Deuce stated it, the plan of her and Fade against the world. Starting with Stalker, the gang raper turned nice, he freaked me out. He wasn't worth the addition to the team or the love triangle. Trying to say that he was just striving to survive was pathetic because if they were really trying to salvage the human race they would stop senselessly killing people who happen to walk in their territory, like Fade and all of the other poor boys who were murdered. Also, I can't believe that Deuce spent so much time with him and then wondered why Fade started hanging out with Tegan more. Come on, he was hurt, lonely, and confused.
Now, Tegan was portrayed as a sweet little girl, much younger than Deuce. However, soon after when she joins the group, she is portrayed as someone about their age, which really confused me. If I had a say in the plot, I think Tegan should have stayed the little girl she was at first and been with Deuce and Fade, and she should have killed Stalker in his sleep , like she promised. Also, the author never should have made an attempt at bringing her into the love story.
Now, I'm not saying I didn't like the book. I loved the first half of it, which is why I gave it five stars, but the author had some major sorting out to do. The plot was unorganized and almost wrecked once they got to Topside and what could have been a beautiful love story kind of turned into a pathetic attempt at a love (insert some other kind of geometric shape with like four points). It turned into a triangle with an awkward leg that no one knew was there for, sticking out the side. Who do you think this leg is?? I think it's Tegan, hands down.

Also, Fade was the one who said Stalker should join, not Deuce. Also, I didnt think that Tegan was a sweet little girl when we first met her. And i think Fade shouldnt have overreacted when he saw her spending time with Stalker, who else was she supposed to talk to? no one else was around. But he just started ignoring her which I think was bad of him.

The author took that whole three category thing too far (hunter, builder, breeder). Everyone knows how to comfort someone even if its not their life calling. Also, Fade chose Stalker for his strength, not to become Deuce's new best friend. He shouldn't have treated her differently after he joined the group.

I don't really think it is a love triangle actually. I think its Fade/Deuce and then Stalker may just have a crush of Deuce. In my opinion, its only a love triangle if the heroine actually does like the opposing male character. And vice versa. But if it did come to a love triangle; Fade all the way.
I don't even understand how Stalker is a choice for her. He's raped and killed a lot of people. Why would you want that?!?!?!?!?!?! If she doesn't choose Fade I will most likely fall into a deep depression. TEAM FADE FOR LIFE!!!!!!! (I kinda hope Stalker is "accidentally" killed)

It's easy to see why Deuce and Stalker might bond, but as someone who lives in a civilized society, it's impossible to overcome the things he's done- regardless of how far he's come or his motivation.

STALKER!!!!!! For some reason, I didn't really like Fade and Deuce's relationship in Outpost. But I really love the complexity of Stalker's character. can't wait for the next book!
Isn't that a life lesson? Choosing from your relationships what is real and what is just good friendly feelings? The controversy between can opposite sexes be friends? And a love triangle is key to a good book. But my vote is for Fade!

Fade of course! Does anyone else wish the author hadn't gone so far as to make Stalker a rapist in Enclave? Can't really redeem him from something like that. I would have felt less guilty about liking his character in Outpost (which i did) without such a disturbing past. However, I don't like him as a love interest for Duece.
Fade... All the way... Really think about it, Stalker condoned rape. There's no redemption after that. Just because he didn't do it himself, but allowed his other 'wolves' do, does not make him a character that I can learn to love, or even respect for that matter. No. Team Fade. Hands down.

I agree, although I really don't like the predicitability of distopian novels, I truly do enjoy the climax where it's like "kill me" "no you kill me" (such as hunger games and divergent)
I hope Outpost will have more Fade and Deuce lovey moments but still in character (I would cry if Fade went soft)
Oh and, Fade for sure. No question about it. Seriously.
