Juliet Dark is the pen name for Carol Goodman.
The books also have 2 separate publishing dates. One in July 2011, the other will only come out in December 2011.

Isabella | 72 comments Until something is released on the authors site, the books should not be changed. As for the release date, it's on Amazon, Random ... and a few other sites with the same publishing date. Also Carol Goodman is a Goodreads author, so if she has any issues with the books she'll let us or the Author's Feedback Group know.

willaful One of the reviews indicates that the one already published is the U.K. edition. I've never heard of a book changing not only titles but author names -- pretty odd.

I have an e-arc of The Demon Lover, according to netGalley it is scheduled to be released in December.

Demon Lover, from reviews, appears to be erotica. The other works from Carol Goodman appear to be Gothic. So, maybe the publisher in England didn't want Goodman's name connected with it and the US publisher thought it would be good for sales. Honestly, her gothic books look interesting. But, if I came across a book from an author that was erotica, I'd just think they were an author of erotica and I'd probably never buy one of their books assuming that was their genre.

willaful It's not being marketed as erotica: netGalley has it classified as romance and fantasy.

Lindsi, as of right now, both books will remain separate.

This thread should be closed.

Yes, books released under different names in different countries should be combined. Books released under different pen names should also be combined.

The valid portion of the Librarian Manual is quoted below. In other words, they should be combined under Carol Goodman. As far as titles, the most popular edition will dominate.

Regarding author pseudonyms or pen names - some authors write or have written under multiple names. When editing or adding information for a book written by an author with multiple names, enter the author's name as on the front cover as the primary author. The author's other names may be added in the other author fields. Original name or other pen names can added and linked via a Librarian Note: in the description field, or using the Librarian Note feature located above the Title field. In some cases, a book may be originally published under a pen name, but then later reissued under the author's original name. When this happens, the author listed for any and all editions should be the author name the book was originally published under - so the reissued edition would need its author name changed to the originally published pen name. Doing this will allow the various editions to be combined.

Kim | 607 comments I think the problem is we can't confirm they are the same book unless someone here has both or the author lets us know.

willaful Here's some corroboration: http://nocturnalbookreviews.blogspot....

And I agree, they should be combined -- especially since the book is the start of a series.

Kim | 607 comments Somebody has already combined them. I corrected them so that Demon Lover has the authors pen name as primary.
