Ellie Keaton (elliekeaton) | 68 comments Hi Simon

Sorry I was busy with the three kids - putting them to bed now but the url is http://www.elliekeaton.com

I can give you access if you want to put the store on the blog but obviously I dont want to post that info here lol

or you can email me the code and I can build a store (I think I can manage that!)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Hi Ellie, I think it will have to wait until I get back to civilization (biggleswade) from the wilds of heathrow.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Biggleswade.

Civilisation.

It is to laugh.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments i will be flying into heathrow on saturday - should i get a native guide?

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments All round the perimeter of heathrow are feeder villages (towns) completely dependent on the airport. It is interesting.......

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments oh dear. I knew I should have picked a different airport...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's horrid walking through the rabble on the way to the Virgin lounge. ;)

Seriously though, it's such a poorly designed airport.

I think Schiphol is my favourite airport. There can be thousands n thousands of people yet it still never feels crowded.

Or maybe Dubai...it's another good one.

Dubai airport is fantastic!

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Oh..... I hate Dubai airport. I try very hard not to fly through it. There are staff at the sports bar in Singapore airport who think I work there though ... :)

message 210: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Because you went behind the bar and poured your own drinks?

Dubai airport is great! Compare it to Kenya, Simon.

Or Lagos...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Trying to psych myself up for Heathrow... I have Dublin more of less sussed at this stage.

message 212: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Departing Heathrow is fine. Nice and organised.

Which terminal are you using?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Whichever one Aer Lingus uses. Terminal 1 I expect.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's Simon's bailiwick, Martin.

He has such a nice bailiwick, our Simon. :)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Now I'm singing
'Nick nack bailiwack, give a dog a bone,
This old man comes rolling home!'

message 216: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm sure he will be. As long as he can get out of London, anyway...

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Your book is in the store now Martin!

message 218: by Alastair (new)

Alastair Cameron (AlastairCameron) | 2 comments Hi there, Sorry if I am asking the same thing as others - I am looking for advice on how best to highlight my ebook to people looking for career support and advice and also if I am allowed to share my ebook details with this group? Cheers very much, Alastair

message 219: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Hi Alastair

There are plenty of places within the group where you can promote your book.

Have a read through the threads, then please ask again if you find anything to be unclear.

Alastair Cameron (AlastairCameron) | 2 comments Yes good stuff Patti - I just checked out one of the other groups - cheers very much

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I'm going to buy these through the store next week:

BUT, I would be more inclined to do so if my books were also in our Amazon store ;) Simon?

message 222: by Simon (Highwayman) (last edited Jun 08, 2012 02:06PM) (new)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments @DM , to be honest I haven't really maintained the store for some time. I probably need to take another look at it and see what it is bringing to the party. You do qualify to have a book featured in the store and when I am nudged I am quite happy to add a book.

As far as your future purchases are concerned you have to make your own mind up whether to do it through the group. We earn pennies, not pounds from this and it all goes back into the group.

@Martin, if someone visits amazon through a url with @tag=ethings-21 in the amazon UK web address we get a small commission for 24 hours as long as the person does not use another commission code in that period.

Other forums are geared up to make sure their commission codes stay active. We are not in it for the money so we tend to lose out to more aggressive commission tagging.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I'll buy through the store to help the group a little. I'm an Amazon Associate myself and so I know the revenue is not great (usually non-existent).

I wonder if those covers come in other colours...could only find red or purple. Thought I saw a brown or black one when I was searching a week or two ago...

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Goodies purchased!

message 229: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Dunno.

Maybe it's cuz I've not had time to eat yet this morning. Erm. Nor this afternoon.

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments COOKIES FOR PATTI !!!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Lmao!

All I know is, if I don't eat soon I may as well wait til dinnertime...

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Today my Forefront leather black/grey Kindle Touch case came, complete with reading light and freebie stylus pen !

Now I just need something to put inside it ;)

EDIT: It's quite smelly!

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments It didn't go through the store Dm.

I will be taking a good look at the group store this weekend. Any ideas welcome.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments What? But I saw the tag on the end of the URL when I went through to Amazon...

message 236: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments That happened to me with my computer. We'd have got a whole £2 too!

message 237: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I read somewhere earlier this week that if you use another tag within a few hours of using our one, it will cancel it out!

Did you happen to do that?

message 238: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I only use our tag

message 239: by Elle (last edited Jun 15, 2012 04:37AM) (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments When you clicked via the email for ereader it has their tag on it, so sometimes with price drops/now on kindle i sometimes use their tag accidentally.

(also when you click through emails from amazon they sometimes have tags on them)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I can't be sure what I did afterwards, but I am visiting various Amazon pages all the time - though usually my own and other writers' (which are not generally associates' links).

message 241: by Simon (Highwayman) (last edited Jun 15, 2012 11:48AM) (new)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Yes, amazon is a jungle (see what I did there)

Tags over ride other tags. Some forums delete posts that have the wrong tags. I can't be bothered but it is nice when people do change links to our tag.

YOU can't be bothered?

Oh, I am so biting my tongue here.

message 243: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Me and Patti are like the tag police!

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments But I am a very important IT geek and specifically prefer to show how clever I am by moving peoples internet bar around.:)

(Actually I have never moved an internet bar)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Patti isn't talking to me now.

Thanks

message 248: by Elle (last edited Jun 16, 2012 08:58AM) (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Just go to the address bar janet and add

&tag=ethings-21

to the end of the address :)

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Thanks - ordered them :)

(Dog is sitting next to me now, groaning as she wants to go out and check that the cat isn't sat on the shed roof. The cat was sat there once last year, & the shed is no longer there but does that the stop the dog?)
